FB does tend to murder photo quality with some brutal jpegging, I guess with so many million pics they need to save on storage. "Photographers" who post their work on FB and nowhere else make me wince, though :P

There's an EOS 400 that ends on ebay in a few hours here that's only at around $150 but the person selling it has less than 10 feedback, all positive but all as a buyer and they have no info in the listing other than it saying "camera is in perfect condition" and some photos. Not saying how I know this, that's £500 I won't see again in a hurry

Question; is there some way of being notified when someone is uploading new stuff to a Flickr account if you're not 'friended' or whatever? Is there RSS or something? I ask because whenever I put a set up from a local fashion or burlesque do, before the set is finished uploading the first pics up will have a bunch of views on them, but only for the risqué shots... There's some dedicated spunkers online, no doubt Case in point; I realised I never put the pics from the 'Tiny Lives' charity do up, so uploaded them this evening - 5 views of a nice pair of legs / rear end less than 20mins later

Anyone tell me why a flash-head might go from ETTL to plain TTL and then back without any user input? Shooting my 50d last night with a 580exII attached via a 1meter curlycord; first few photos were fine then all of a sudden massive overexposure - check the flash and its now TTL... Swear and switch to manual until there's an intermission, dismantle everything and rub the contacts on camera, flash and cord - back to ETTL for the next acts. Hmmf, these things are sent to try us

Oh man... I shoot the occasional photo for work, was asked to get a group shot of the procto/urology team with their new high-tech investigation machine for the hospital newsletter / intranet. Joked with my boss,'ok as long as its not in use' Not in use, but they did have some poor guy out cold in stirrups on the other side of the theatre while a serious nurse had a close look wearing a headlamp...

A challenge, you say? Sure, hit me with it, it can't be that bad... Ffffuck. Been through the wash several times? Even with some heavy books on the scanner lid this was as flat as I could get it and it still looks like a relief map. Queue several dozen nose transplants and face-mirror-and-flips... On a plus point, its good practice with the new tablet - folks, these things will pay for themselves in short order if you do any kind of fiddly retouching work even occasionally. The iPad 'Photoshop Nav' app is good when you can't reach the keyboard for shortcuts though it won't let you put eg. 'mirror horizontal' on as a tool; the less menu fishing I have to do the happier I am. <edit>Ah, make actions of simple commands and you can assign th action in the Nav app.. To be honest a lot of the time was just getting familiar with using the tablet and the Nav app, I reckon I could redo it in around 3:30 / 4hrs now. Mind you, for all the touchups it's lucky to have a photo that has so much repetition you can borrow from to make fixes... Just one or two soldiers against a backdrop all creased and cracked like this and it'd have been a nightmare
