Good lord. I would have gladly made that business deal with Leibovitz if I had the money to loan. It's hard to argue with making a loan whose collateral is worth far more than the loan itself.

I kinda wonder about that MacWorld shoot... perhaps this is the amateur in me speaking, but is it really necessary for "half a day" (4 hours? 12 hours?) to expire for a shot like that? I've worked with large format before doing product photography with what seemed to me much more challenging subjects and I came away with great results in far less time. Was it really even necessary to break out the Sinar at all?

For something like that? They shot a bunch of different options they didn't show, that's some relatively detail oriented photoshop work, etc etc. For a cover shot like that they are going to spend a ton of time making sure that it's perfect.

You're right. I guess the time makes sense, I just don't understand why this couldn't be done in some dude's basement with a 5D and a Strobist setup.

I found this amusing because adobe is a house building material.

What if you put these inside an adobe? Adobe adobe? What if Adobe made the adobe? Adobe adobe Adobe?

That is really cool.

Definitely. It's kinda weird seeing this stuff in color, it makes the people seem much more real.

It looked like a lot of that stuff was shot on 4x5... was that just done because it was such a slow film (I assume this was K25)?

Has anyone read that new-ish Ken Rockwell article about the research of photography hobbyists being due to the easy availability of internet porn? Really kinda turned me off the guy. I knew he was always a bit off his rocker, but that one takes the cake.

If so, here's an opportunity to support me via Kickstarter:

I'm starting a project to take photos of LA. I have pilots and planes - all I need is your valuable, hard-earned money. I'll give you prints & stuff in return. If you live in LA, I'll take a photo of your house!

(Brad, if this is bad - I can edit it out :( )

I couldn't contribute much but I gave a few bucks. Good luck with the project.

you could put one in the back of a panel van like this dude

Interesting video, I hadn't see this one before. Pretty beautiful results, though not particularly eco-friendly.

There are 35mm shooters whose primary way of showing their images is Instagram?
