parents had a nice Balinese cat, decalwed it, and let it go outside a few months after declawing it was never seen again, only bits of bloody fur next to the garbage cans remained.

well yeah, there's cats that are meant to go outside Balinese are some siamese defect variant that have no guard hairs so they are super soft but can't shed water or get cold
