I bought everything new in July and the grand total before tax was about 900. I have it posted for about that much on TexasGunTrader and there hasn't been much attention. He hasn't made an offer or anything yet, so I may ask for a little bit of cash to go with the deal.

All I know is the store I went to I bought the last two 50cnt boxes they had and it was like 21 a box. I think I remember reading last night that you can actually buy the 9x18 in bulk and it's way cheaper can anyone confirm? I'm going to try and get my CCW, anyone have any advice when it comes to anything like holsters, positioning, shooting people, etc? I don't know poo poo about it. I've read about how easy it is in Alabama, and it's supposedly easy to get. My record is spotless, I walked into the store and out with my gun in like 20 minutes. And I was just joking about shooting people, I don't intend on harming anything unless my life or others are in grave danger. edit: Holy gently caress, since I've gotten it and told people like 3 people have either directly or indirectly treated me like poo poo for owning a gun like it's immoral or something. I'll try this in here first. A good friend of mine is getting married in a month and I'm one of his groomsmen. Both his parents and her parents are loaded so I reckon they're going hog wild. Cue to him sending me a text about possibly getting all of us a Taurus Judge lol Once he came to his senses, he asks me about Hi-Points. I tell him that's a no-go and to save his money. So, my question is, what is the cheapest quality firearm he could buy all of us...seems like he wants handguns, but he might be open to other suggestions. Old, new, whatever...show me what you got. I already mentioned Mosins to him, so you can omit that answer...

He could contact the guy who runs Summit Gun Broker(.com) and ask about a bulk rate on some nice used guns. You get better value for his money that way, and you might luck into a kickass used Sig or something. Some of the guns he lists are one-offs, and some come in huge lots from police surplus and stuff. They'll all have to go through a FFL, so call around the area and find a guy who will give you a bulk discount on the transfers. CZ82s from aimsurplus.com would be another fine choice, and very affordable. Mausers or K31s from classicarms.us. If you want to do new, and also brick and mortar, try getting everyone a Ruger Single Six. My brother wants to give out S&W 686s as favors at his wedding. Sadly, I think he'll be getting married in the next year or two, and won't have the money to do that by then.

Cheap bastard. Seriously, the options from classicarms and aimsurplus could probably come in around half (or less) what a Judge costs. Although a RIA 1911 with the date engraved on the slide or something would be a far classier option if he decided to shoot the wad.

Are all the groomsmen residents of the same state as the groom? That's another potential snag he should know about, since he'd have to go through an FFL to transfer what he buys a second time if it is going to someone whose residence is in a different state.

I think you're confusing killing an infant, which sure as hell isn't a misdemeanor, with dumping fetal remains, which to me sounds more like the rest of a miscarriage or an abortion. I think it's a misdemeanor because any kind of human remains is potentially hazardous and should not be disposed of in regular garbage dumps.

Ya mine has a grip like that one. The finish is a bit rough in places, the grip is chewed up a bit, and the cushioning on the end of the stock is just some slip-over crap. ilkhan posted:wouldn't inheriting by definition require a dead person's estate? You don't need to go to an FFL if it's a question of spouse inheriting from a spouse, a child inheriting from a parent(or vice versa), or a grandchild from a grandparent(or vice versa). If it's a handgun, you do have to register the transfer of ownership, but no FFL is involved. You just need to fill out an Operation of Law or Intrafamilial Handgun Transaction Report and send it with $19 to the DOJ.

Can anybody tell me what to look for in a scope? I'm not very new to guns, but I am new to optics. I'm looking at getting a scope that would be good for around 200 yards. I'm not a sportsman (hence the "new to scopes" thing), I just like shooting at things far away. My father-in-law has 300 acres that I can plink on, but the most open area he's got maxes out at about 200 yards. After some online research, I don't feel much smarter about the magnification and so forth that would be appropriate for this distance. I'm going to drop the scope on my new production Mini-14 (yeah I know, but it was cheap!) until I can afford a more precise bolt-action .308. Thanks goons. Ghanks.

A lot of it depends on how much zoom you want on what you're seeing. A huge part of what makes scopes accurate is that you get SOME magnification but also get a much finer, easier to see cross-hair. I can produce some really disgustingly nice groups at 150 yards with my AR and a 4x scope on it, for example. If you've ever read about snipers in world war 2, all of them were using scopes in the 4x ballpark, although the Germans had a few models that went (I think) up to 6x - and some of those guys were making kills WAY beyond 200 yards. If you really want to get a good look at your target and feel like you're right on top of it something in the 5-10x ballpark is probably more your cup of tea. For a mini-14 at 200 yards I would probably recommend either a 4x fixed power scope or one of those 1.5x-7x adjustable power scopes. You don't need to buy the best, most amazing optics on the planet for a first scope, but you also don't want to be buying the cheapest $40 hunk of chinese poo poo at Walmart either. A good ballpark for where optics start being worth a drat is around the $150-200 point. 1st_Panzer_Div. posted:I was wondering if anyone knows (or knows what to google for even) anything about WA state laws on shooting on public land. Washington is really good about allowing shooting on public land. You'll probably want to find a good patch of BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land - you can google around to find maps of BLM land. THere's a bunch of WA-goons who shoot on BLM stuff all the time. Try PM'ing Miso Beno if you don't get a more precise answer, he knows all the good shooting spots in western WA.
