Nitr0 posted:Wow can you post what you did? I can't find anything like that for the WDTV Live. I'm sick of looking at my lovely menus. Sorry, but that is for the wdtv, not the wdtv live. I don't know how it works for the live, but a bit of browsing here should get you started. I guess the movie and tv sheet stuff should be the same though. I use thumbgen for movies and TheTvDB TVSheetGenerator for TV Series. After you set those up, you just have to push a few buttons once in a while.

I've got a whole bunch of music videos in .mpg format, which I thought was supported but lo and behold none of them seem to play. Do I just have some old-rear end firmware on mine or is a typical format like .mpg really not supported?

My guess is that it was some crummy encoding job, but I haven't the foggiest idea if that's true. I think the only way to fix it is to convert the video.

I have a ton of music with folder.jpg files for album art, but the WDTV Live doesn't read those. Do I have to embed them in the files or can I just rename them all to something else?

Anyone ever have an issue with videos not playing and holding up on the hour glass style window on networked movies? I just had this issue last night. :/

Well, I thought it had fixed it. For the most part it works, but I just tried to watch an MKV video file and it went to play it and it's black screen only and no time up on the screen on my computer it plays fine but not on wdtv. Maybe a bad format? I tried to stop it and go to something else and it gets me in the spinning loop again and I have to hard boot it.

Is it a recent MKV? The latest versions of mkvmerge use a feature called header removal compression that the WDTV chokes on.

It'll just stay on a black screen when I try to play it, and then I exit out back to the video menu and try to play another file, I get the endless buffer loop. Hard reboot again... WD seriously needs to update the firmware.

I just use PlayOn. It's not the best solution, especially since it's a yearly fee IF you buy it now, but it works until I can sell my WDTV Live to fund a Live Plus.

In case anyone is looking for a sure fire wireless solution that works for full 1080p streaming I use: http://www.netgear.com/landing/en-us/wnce2001.aspx With a BIPAC 7404VNPX N router. Works flawlesly. Movies load almost instantly, no stuttering.

Can someone please tell me how to connect to a network using a USB wifi adapter? My googling skills evidently suck. I have a wireless G network protected by WPA. I've plugged in my wireless USB adapter and turned the WDTV LIVE on. What next? How do I scan for available networks and connect to mine? Will it work with WPA?
