I must have missed a thread like this, but I'm thinking of picking up a few WWE DVDs:

Mick Foley's Hits and Misses
Rey Mysterio: The Biggest Little Man
Rock: Most Electrifying Man
Best Hell in a Cell Matches

I'd like some opinions on these sets. Worth buying? Pass? Etc.

Hmm, I believe all of these don't have a documentary. I have all four and I liked the Foley and the Rock sets the best. The Rock set has a shitload of his promos on there and the Foley set has some great matches.

Check gohastings.com, secondspin.com, Half.com or Amazon Marketplace, you can get many of these in great condition used for super cheap.

Skip The Rock one, it doesn't have his best matches and he doesn't even do anything for the DVD itself.

Hell in a Cell is a really good release, and I don't think it was just the best HiaCs, I think it was EVERY HiaC up to that point!

Yup, even those weird rear end HitCs on RAW.

I think it skipped the Bossman/Undertaker Cell match from WrestleMania XV.

Not that this is a bad thing.

Fantastic if you're a fan of Duthty. Tons of promos, most of his more well-known matches, albeit not all of them are even good by Dusty's standards. The doc is pretty decent, if a little shallow, but most of WWE's DVDs are like that.

Rise and Fall of ECW: A lot of fun. Needs to be watched with Forever Hardcore to get some idea of the whole story. Was universally praised when it first came out but it's not as great now. Still drat good. I'd still call it a must own.

Rise and Fall of WCW: Great matches selected, poo poo documentary. A serious disappointment. I would only get it for the matches. The doc is meh.

I didn't find it nearly as good as their first ROH shoot. It is very wacky and there are lots of guests, but... eh.

The Monday Night War DVD was pretty good if a little umm. . .Selective in terms of what it does and does not get into.

Did you watch it drunk?

I watched it drunk with my friends. It was a loving riot.

Is there any place where you can actually find Wrestlemania 17 for a decent price? I only see it on ebay and its like 70 bucks.

Nope, it's pretty rare for being a WWF DVD.

The version without the blocked logos will probably run you a high price. You can easily get it in the four pack of Wrestlemania 16-20 for about $40 total (which are pretty much all worth having except for 16).

I picked up the unblocked WWF version at my local Hastings a couple months ago for about $7 (they have a buy one used DVD, get one for a dollar deal). If you've got a Hastings or any used DVD and CD store nearby, I'd recommend checking them out for wrestling DVDs. I own tons of WWE DVDs, and for most of them I've paid less than half price just by getting them used.

I picked up Royal Rumble 2001 at Cash Converters a while back. No logos were blocked on the DVD, yet the DVD sleeve has the WW logo, I found that really loving weird.
@Monkeys: Oh no you di'nt! WM16 has the Triangle Ladder Match, Jericho vs Angle vs Benoit and a fun as hell Hardcore Title match which gave birth to one of the most glorious images in wrestling history, Pete Gas bleeding a gusher all over his v-neck.

Used DVD stores are your best chance. I was lucky and got it off of SA Mart with the 2004 HoF DVD for $22 about a year and a half ago.
