Right now he's just really good (which for a 19 year old out of the draft, is fine by me). But speed can be worked on. Getzlaf is a prime example of a guy who lacked speed but worked on it, good enough for a Stanley cup team. Dubinsky I also feel improved a lot speed wise last season.

When I say elite, I mean Malkin/Ovechkin level. I think Tavares is gonna be a 40 goal scorer, 90 some point player. Not sure he'll ever win the scoring race or Richard trophy, with Ovechkin in the league, but he'll be a great player...just not "best in the league" great

I think he'll be in that tier just below that. And personally, I think Okposo is a much better player in all aspects of the game and will ultimately be the more important player when it comes to one ice play, just perhaps not numbers (though his production is certainly not bad at all.
