We all know that it gets around. What malicious rumours and/or gossip have been floating around your workplace recently? Bonus points if said rumour later turns out to be true! If this tanks, eh, you admins do what you gotta do. Woman supervisor at my workplace recently got divorced, apparently because she had a major-league crush on our assistant store manager. Well, he wasn't terribly interested (ie. wouldn't leave his wife) so she has gone off the rails slightly. It was rumoured that she was banging a cashier, young guy (18, she's 34) and was generally being a whore about town. She has 3 kids, between 6 and 12. I thought it was all just gossip until I went out with some friends one Saturday night, and there she is, bumping and grinding away, drunk as hell on the dancefloor. Where are the kids? At home. Alone. It's 1am. She rubbed her crotch on the leg of my jeans and dirty-danced all over me, and I was quite uncomfortable. Then I saw her with previously mentioned cashier, and eventually she left with some random guy. The best bit is that through my intricate web of sources, she just last week had a pregnancy scare. I'm sure we've all had similar experiences (or even had rumours about us), post them.

I get all my rumors from the History Channel. I only report to one person for work and we share no secrets so my life is rumor free.

At my former high school, people were saying one of the teachers left her husband for another teacher. A female teacher. After months of speculation, they came to school one day with the same last names! The next rumour was that they were trying to start a family. After months of further speculation, it turns out they were, and she had a miscarriage. I swear, the lives of those two women were like a soap opera for the rest of the school. ![]() That's really my main experience with rumours. Not much going around in university or at my part time job. I guess there was also a rumour that I was a lesbian. It turned out to be false.

Once, while doing a project with someone in college, she told me something about the girl down the hall and a bunny. "Wait, she was a bunny?" I asked, hoping to clarify. "Yeah," she said. "Don't tell anyone." I immediately told everyone I knew that that girl used to be a Playboy Bunny. After about a month of spreading this, I learned that I misheard; she had a bunny. I did a project with her boyfriend a year later and he said he searched for her online obsessively for about six months, figuring she must have a working name. Oops.

Back in school it was that one of our PE Teachers was gay, Turns out we were very wrong and he was actually molesting with the female students. (Ages 12/13 to 16/17 since it's a UK school)

My 18 month old son thinks the television remote belongs to him. Little does he know, it belongs to me.
