RU 187 261 LIB: Feb 20, 2009; M is for MURDER

Like many of us, I feel like I saw a lot of stupid poo poo during the Great Panic of 08-09, and now that it is over I feel like I can post a retrospective thread, and I hope other people can share the greatest gouges they saw.

The worst thing I ever saw was one fine Raleigh gun show in the spring, a Century CETME selling for $1400 with a junk scope on it. The entire show proved similar, with everything from $700 Hakims to primer gouging the likes of which I have not seen before or sense.

But the singular memory I have that defines the Obama panic, was walking up to one of the big milsurp sellers, and realizing I could get a Vz. 52 and all the $.45/rd 7.62x45 I could ever want, for less than the panic-driven $400 price of an SKS with its then $.50/round 7.62x39.
