Well here I am posting a box thread. I've been lurking around for quite a bit, and recently I've gotten a box worth posting about. Something tells me it's German Ooh it is! It's a SigPro SP2022 in 9mm. It shoots absolutely amazing, though my handgun experience has been limited to a couple .22's, and my friends' Beretta 92 and G36. Both of which are excellent but I love my first purchase. I've already modified it a bit, which you might have noticed. I put a stainless guide rod in, which in reality will have no real effect on how it shoots. All in all I enjoy it and it's been good first handgun purchase. EDIT: I forgot to mention it came with night sights. Ghemah fucked around with this message at Nov 06, 2009 around 06:56 |

Mmm, Sigtastic. May I ask where it was from and how much it set you back?

I bought it from a local shop/range here in Knoxville. It set me back about $575.

I know gently caress all about Sigs or any handgun that uses a hammer; would that be an equivalent carry weapon (in size and so forth) to a G19
|
| # ? Nov 06, 2009 05:49 |
|
It's a bit bigger than a G19. I don't really have any real need to get a carry license, so size wasn't a big point on my list when purchasing.

I went in there looking for MY Sig but all they had was overpriced new stuff. Very nice shop though, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Must have been all the wimmens running around the range.

My agency has issued that gun to us since 2007 and I really like it. It racks really smoothly and seems to be very lenient with offhand shooting.

Other than the DAO Sig CCA has for rent, the Sigs I've rented from there are stellar guns. I also didn't know there were so many k-town goons around these parts

We also don't really have any free ranges up here. I've been at ETSU in the Tri-Cities for the past 4 years or so and TN Wildlife Management has 4 or 5 free or like $2 per car ranges up there. Closest we have is this Hunter Education center that has the oddest hours.

I love my Sigpro 2009, and I have used it as a carry piece for about 2 years now. I'm looking for something smaller, currently, but it's possible to hide these.

Ghemah posted:Yeah we don't have Academy, the closest thing we have is Dick's and Gander Mtn. The Hunter Education Center does have jacked up hours but it's very safe and professionally run. It's also the only range that's over 25 yards in the area. There's also Gunny's in Maryville that has a 25 yard centerfire range but that's a bit of a drive, and it's $15 a lane like Coal Creek. Bornunderpunches posted:I don't think I've run across another knox area goon in my time here. i think there's like 6 or 7 total but they all lurk or don't post a lot (me). there's just not a horde of posters in TN like in PA, NC, or the fabled PNW gun enthusiasm zone. we're here though

That's the one thing I like about the range. Range officers. I went up to Tri-Cities today to shoot with a friend up there and we had some awesome gangsta's post a target at the 25y mark, then proceed to dump the mag of their Glock from about 10 feet away, well past the firing line. The best part was they came back to the tables to reload and then walk back up to the target without calling anything or checking to see if anyone was still firing. Awesome...

The internals are different, you can't install a DAK or SRT trigger (not sure about a thin trigger). The frames and slides are different shapes, though similar, and it takes different magazines.
