http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news...article1353257/quote:A woman who tried to pass the written exam for a driver's license with near-daily attempts since April 2005 has finally succeeded on her 950th time. That is some serious determination right there. Now lets see how long it takes her to actually pass the practical drivers test.

Now let's see how many attempts it takes her to pass the driving portion, and god help her if there is a parallel parking requirement too. I hope she doesn't get a license.

Korean vegetables sellers are cunts, with oppressive loud-speakers that keep me awake at 3am. I, also, hope she doesn't get a license.

She only needed a 60% to pass? I'm pretty sure I could have passed by guessing with in about the first 100 trys!

Just how many different questions can there be on the test? How the gently caress do you not remember the answers after, oh, the first 200 times? Christ, I hope this woman doesn't get her license but then again there are drivers out there right now who cannot pass their written test and wouldn't know the difference between a yield sign and a stop sign.

Come on. You should be able to memorise the questions, look them up and get a passing grade by test 100. Count down untill the thread where she kills someone while driving.

I'm guessing she's illiterate or something, that's the only way this makes sense to me.

There should be a limit of, I don't know maybe 50 times that you can take the test without passing before a lifetime ban on you even thinking about driving takes effect. Drivers tests are mostly common sense, things like If you are approaching a rail road crossing and the lights begin to flash you should: A. Speed up and try and jump the tracks B. Slam on your brakes C. Stop at the line indicated If you can't figure that poo poo out after one or two tries than really, don't drive.

This woman should get her own reality show. I want to see how the rest of her life works. Laundry, eating, paying bills. Would she end up stabbing herself in the face during dinner? Washing her potted plants instead of her shirts?

I imagine that she was making some sort of ideological point. Protesting some thing by repeatedly putting it as the correct answer.

Korea is to have a small flat bed tuck, similar to a pickup truck, filled with vegetables or fish or some other lovely semi-fresh product, that in reality is weeks old; and drive through neighborhoods 24/7 with a loudspeaker announcing what is for sale. Its very loud and a tape or CD set on loopback.

That's admirable determination, but it might have been better for her business had she not tried for the licence.

I don't even understand why she feels as though she needs a license this bad? She has presumably gone the past 50+ years without driving, and now why does she want to drive? What drove her to attempt this test 950 times and waste $4500. I'm sure she could find a driver for her vegetable business no problem...

It took me a good month to discern what the gently caress the noise was outside of my apartment at 5 in the morning as I didn't speak Korean or get out of bed at 5 in the morning for anything. The best for me though were the old ladies (Ajumas) who used to crouch next to the road selling shoots and leeches that they'd picked from the various canals throughout town. I still regret not catching one of them in frame with a passing BMW 7-Series at some point.

Man this reminds me of the Randy Moss school of driving. Red light means go. Yellow light means go. Green light means go. Walk? You'd better run. I don't have time to wait for your rear end all day! Speed Limit? No speed limit. One Way? Any Way. Traffic Cop? Speed bump. Speed bump? Ramp.

She pretty obviously was guessing, and sort of won the lottery. Except in this lottery, the drivers on the road lose. It's possible that she is illiterate, but I though Hangul also has colorful synonyms for it like, "children's writing" and "writing you can learn in a morning". It's probably safer (and would have been cheaper, looking at the money spent on testing fees) for her to just hire a goddamn driver.
