I love this. I got a free laptop because my mother-in law's computer was "broken" and she just up and bought a new laptop. Then she told me I could have it if I could fix it. I ran the system restore disk and voila, free laptop.

More than likely its a troubleshooting issue and not that your computer sucks. Unless you pirated that 3D Studio software, call their support line up and see what they say.

If they just laugh in your face, go to best buy and just tell them you want a "Fast Computer" and that will give you as good a result as anything you'll luck across on an internet forum.
