To handle a 2 million+ polygon model with 3d Studio Max. I'm currently using: e6600 2gb ram quadro fx 570 Windows XP 32 bit And cannot even loving open the file.

More than likely its a troubleshooting issue and not that your computer sucks. Unless you pirated that 3D Studio software, call their support line up and see what they say. If they just laugh in your face, go to best buy and just tell them you want a "Fast Computer" and that will give you as good a result as anything you'll luck across on an internet forum.
