Story lines: The Saints have matched their franchise best start and hope to break that record against NFC South rival Panthers. However, they'll have to snap the panther's 7 game winning streak at the Superdome. Jake Delhomme has been inconsistent this year but a strong running game has given them a victory last week and some hope for a playoff berth - they have averaged 217.6 yards rushing over their last 3 games. After a lastlucker start star DE Julius Peppers has been destroying opposing offenses.

The Chargers have recovered from a disappointing start need a win here to try & keep pace with the surprising Bronocs in the AFC West. This will be the first meeting between Rivers & Manning who were famously traded in the 2004 NFL draft after Eli refused to play for the Chargers. All of the Chargers wins have come against losing teams, a win here would help their claims to contender status.
