Well, the one game I've ever done it in was Bad Idea Mafia, which wasn't a game intended to be taken seriously so it didn't matter much to me. The game ended after like 1 real life day.

But, that said, if I'm town and I'm going to lose in LYLO to either the SK or scum, do I have a right to decide who I want to win and act accordingly? Of course I do. The idea that the last townie should be "unbiased" is a little ridiculous.

If I'm scum and I'm losing, do I have a right to decide whether I want to help the town or the SK? Of course I do.

When you're new to mafia you're sometimes going to get lynched basically for being new and not being someone who everyone is friends with. It sucks but that's the way it is. I'd just say try to have fun, be positive, be confident without being smug, and play games. Eventually it will stop.

Yeah, in an ideal world be yourself. I'm just saying if you're going to pick a mafia hero, pick someone solidly in the middle personality-wise who posts, makes good cases, is generally smart, and doesn't piss everyone off all the time. Voodoofly, Tom Tucker, Dominoes, etc.

I had an idea for a barebones IRC game but don't really know how to do that myself.

Concept is simple; everyone is vanilla, the game is played in one main room with several other rooms that people go to at night. During the night, the scum can only make a kill from the base of people that they are in the same room as.

I was trying to figure out a way to run this as a forums game, but it seems like it'd be better on IRC. Any takers?

Me and TNL will be running a big game version of Seedy Mansion early next year, maybe January. Each night, everyone chooses a room to go to. The scum don't choose a normal nightkill, instead one of them has a knife and he kills whoever is in the room he visits. There are also boobytraps in the rooms and other things.
