THE SUBS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rv9k3BYs0I The Subs - From Dusk Till Dawn

(USER WAS PUT ON PROBATION FOR THIS POST)
sorry you got probated for this post since it's essentially the same as everybody else is doing in this thread and i don't really see which difference "WHAT A BANGER" does, but that avh track is legit.

also, here's a track i've heard a lot lately
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79rshLqxRVI Dada Life - Let's Get Bleeped Tonight (Mustard Pimp Remix)

i really dont care for "we love animals" (yet, anyway, maybe it's a grower) - too loving bad, when you just know you're gonna hear this song EVERYWHERE the next couple of months.

Just checked out the new Foamo mix on Kiss 100, and I really like this new Destroy Disco track. Seems like more and more producers are starting to copy Jack Beats wobbly signature style (Foamo himself being one of them, his remix of Hey! is a total JB knockoff)

I think everyone's grandmother has been copying Hostage's style for that past year. Everywhere you turn - it's wobble this and fidget that. Ai ai ai!
I do dig the fact that a lot of it is not straight up house, but throws in breaks and dubstep too.
But for the most part, LFO wobbles are the new sidechain.

I don't understand why you'd point to Hostage as the place of origin though, I definitely think Jack Beats (and to a certain extent Foamo) have had the largest parts in fusing fidget with dubstep. Look at their edits of Where's My Money (and Foamo's edit of In For The Kill). I might be biased because I think Jack Beats' release on Cheap Thrills was the best release of the year while Hostage basically hasn't done anything worthwhile in '09.

Don't know if this track really belongs here, but I have to post it somewhere. I've listened to it like 25 times the last week, it's amazing. Too bad nothing Hudson Mohawke has ever done comes close to this (best contender would be Overnight). Anybody got any recommendations along these lines? Apart from the Adult Swim remixes, that is.

holy poo poo, is the whole Adult Swim thing like this, because this track is loving horrible. it's pretty much the definition of "Not getting it".

"hey guys, lets just throw it all in a stand up mixer and hope it comes out ok!"

different strokes for different folks and all that. the original is a (IMOGEN :frogsiren:) heap of poo poo and the remix is black music reappropriated by a nerdy white guy, what's there not to like?

Who knows, maybe fidget will rise from the dead in 2010? :)

edit: Seeing how Crookers is poppy poo poo now and Duke Dumont is totally next level and unpredictable, I really have high hopes for the Jack Beats album

early crookers or the '09 lovely stuff? i'm guessing the latter since you like bloody beetroots. all the other kids like mstrkrft and steve aoki too. for some decent advice i suggest you check out fake blood and proxy.

Okay, so can anybody recommend me some bmore? I'm trying to get into it, but holy poo poo does Sturgeon's Law apply to this genre - Mostly because of eargrindingly repetitive vocal samples and famous guitar riffs or whatever that I have a very low tolerance for (i'm looking at you nirvana, michael jackson and loving PAPA ROACH remixes). I have, however, fallen in love with a couple of tracks, which I hope can clue you in on what I like. WHAT.

Emynd - Reach Out
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcV7jMOaQBs

DJ Sega - Pinky & The Brain Remix (don't know why it's labeled DJ Dee Square on youtube, my version has the trademark DJ SEGA sound in it)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PPmXa9uSsY

K-Spin - What Remix Part 5 (as far as I've been able to figure out)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-vu2Xsc04k

I have a huge weakness for airhorns. And gunshots. And Lil Jon. YEAH. Somehow he's perfect for this genre. I'm pretty sure he's also featured in another track I dig called the Shake Off by KW Griff, which I heard in a Dirty South Joe mix, but apparently bmore tracks are impossible to find anywhere, so I can't even produce a youtube link to that one.
What else might I like?

Okay, I need some recommendations here. I thought '09 was horrible because of the tribal house hype and I absolutely hated Sound Pellegrino, Renaissance Man, Deadfish and all that poo poo... About a week ago, I decided to check out the Saga Africa release after my roommate got me hooked on King Of Africa (although the best part is the bmorey part) and the entire vinyl blew me away, so now I'm looking for some tribal house tips. What I've liked so far includes
Saga Africa release (not so much Afro Maniok, though)
Malente & Dex feat. New Kidz - Lions (Douster Remix)
Daniel Haaksman - Pobum Coco (again, pretty much bmore with tribal stuff)
