Ok here comes the disco house ultimate POST: Rhythm Masters - Oriental Cyber Phunk/Mutator (1999) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojbq5lXMxdQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wGvvjZGHrQ The Rhythm Masters always had the nastiest percussion, it was really hard and gritty - the compression was super tight, and the whole track gelled really well from a mix standpoint - on top of that, they were expert samplers that knew how to accompany a good sample with on-point percussion. Mutator had some crazy filter stuff going on it that you didn't really hear back in the day, but that track is slamming. The Player remix is one of my all-time favorites, and why it wasn't in my Top 25 list I'm not sure. It's an excellent track. Patrick Alavi - Power (2005) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYs1mCu68y8 Alavi was very, very much influenced by the Daft Punk/traditional French House sound that escaped a lot of producers. He had a lot of missteps, but I think he got it right on this one. I'll let you guys sit on that for now, if you want more then let me know
