You want a WDTV.

Doesn't it have a terrible laggy interface?

Since last december I've had my WDTV live in the living room with a wired connection and I've never had any problems. It's worked beautifully and played drat near every format I can throw at it.

However, this month I got a wireless n usb adapter and moved it to another room. I got a cheapy adapter, and with the wireless being not so great, yes, the menu can be laggy. But based on my experience with it wired, I blame the adapter, not the WDTV.
