 Yesterday morning when I raised my flag to the top of the 25 foot pole I have in my front yard, I must have forgotten to tie it off. Why else would my flag be at half mast when I returned from giving my sermon at Windchime? A few hours later the House of Representatives passed the Senate's version of Obama's Health Care legislation. Prophetic? I think so, and that is why I will leave it at half mast until I feel it is time to return it to full mast. It is my opinion that we are in the end times of what has been called the greatest civilization the world has ever seen. Yes, I believe America is finished. I say so because I do not foresee the Republicans ever reversing this, nor do I see the Supreme Court reversing it. I pray I am wrong, but I fear I am not because we have turned our back on God. In doing so, He has turned His back on us as a nation. We cannot continue doing the many things we do and keep expecting Him to smile upon us. As an historical and political enthusiast I tend to look at certain aspects of the end times prophecies in a different light than many dispensationalists and futurists. I look at the time we live in as being dominated by the "Rule of the People?. Whether it be under democratic socialism or democratic capitalism, it is still a system ruled by the people. This egalitarian type of political rule allows for many absurd and dangerous aspects of society to flourish that could not survive in a totalitarian system. A cursory look at the way Cuban dictator, Castro dealt with those afflicted with AIDS compared to how we deal with them in Democratic societies will make my point. Cubans who have AIDS are locked away in institutions to keep them from infecting the general population. While in America and Western Europe we champion the very act, homosexuality, that spreads the sickness in the name of freedom. We also allow the dreaded disease to promulgate through out our society by teaching our children in school that homosexuality is a lifestyle that is equal to heterosexuality. It is important to understand that Christ will not return because governments make us bad people. He will return because we have willingly refused to turn from our evil ways and follow His teachings. Many people, even many conservatives, do not wish to accept this truth. However, the very things that are going on all around us just proves my point, and it's my opinion things will just get worse. I also fear that the next move by the tyrannical left will be a full frontal attack on Christianity. An attack that will attempt to force Christians to stop preaching the truths of the Bible. Like Canada and some European countries, we too will see conservative evangelicals charged with hate crimes against homosexuals that will set the state against the church. What will make this coming attack easier, is the way we are now seeing denominations after denominations allowing practicing Homosexuals to be ordained ministers by claiming God does not condemn the lifestyle so why should we. Yesterday America died, and in honor and respect for what she once stood for I shall fly my flag at half mast. When God moves me to raise it I will. Unfortunately I do not see that happening anytime soon.
