You can fix this by setting the number clamping and rounding settings to the highest precision levels. I don't have an install of pcsx available to look, but there are two sets of these settings; one under Emotion Engine and another under VPU settings. All four need to be changed. It also results in a slight performance decrease(about 1-2fps for me).

(Names subject to faulty memory)

Names were right, I haven't gotten around to trying this yet on account of the stupid collect 10 orbs mini game you have to do before fighting the final boss which I just said gently caress it to. do these settings make a difference in any other game? I'm really hoping you say they fix the double vision thing going on in Tales of the Abyss. I don't have a copy handy atm to test it.

Dolphin is very impressive just by looking at the compatibility lists. Just about every game I have for the GameCube and the Wii right now has 4 stars or above. I brought a stack of games over from my girlfriend's place along with a wiimote to rip them to my PC for when my tools arrive this week!

Speaking of Dolphin, I recently used it to run Donkey Kong Country Returns at 720p and HOLY poo poo does it look amazing on my Pioneer plasma.

I recorded a video in Fraps to show just how good it can look:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSsHDE8_AJ4

Keep in mind that in-person it actually looks even better than that. It's also nice to play the game with a 360 controller with 'waggle' mapped to a shoulder button. It makes rolling in DKRC much more intuitive.

It's quite remarkable how much better some games are when you can just map waggle to a button.

DKRC looks freaking awesome there, can't wait to try it out. Sounds like the music is a bit glitched, though, which is a bummer since the game has awesome music.

Yeah unfortunately the music isn't perfect. It worked fine on my first two playthroughs of level one, but when I went to record that video it messed up. Also, sometimes the sound likes to glitch out all together and just turn into a bunch of awful noise . Hopefully it will get better as Dolphin is updated.

I finally got metal gear 3 working on pcsx2, i have to say it's fantastic to finally play it.
All it took was swapping to directx 9 mode and fps goes from 5 to 50.

It's a real shame the development team isn't as large as dolphins, I cant imagine how good it'd be then.

edit: looking forward to your next build Gyoru.

Tales of the Abyss and SMT:Nocturne work fine with my Q6600 at 3.0 Ghz. Shadow of the Colossus is one of the most demanding titles on the PS2, and I imagine any slowdown at all is unacceptable in God of War 2 given the action gameplay. The Q6600 overclocked is a bit borderline, but you'll still get decent results with less demanding games.

"The Hero of the Age..."

The hero of all ages

I recieved my Bluetooth adapter in the mail today (an IOGEAR GBU421 Micro USB Adapter), and have been trying, in vain, for the last few hours to get it to work with my Wiimote.

Googling results in a bunch of different instructions using different bluetooth stacks and different programs. On Windows 7, I started by plugging my adapter in and downloading the latest drivers off of IOGEAR's site (6.3.0.6300 of WIDCOMM), and it seemed to pair with my Wiimote after skipping the security code key screen, but Dolphin wouldn't recognize it. Neither would FCEUX when I tried to play NES games with it.

Then I go back to Amazon's page for it, and the most helpful review there says the included instructions for it are wrong, and you're supossed to install the drivers BEFORE plugging in the adapter...only the software won't install unless the adapter is plugged in. Huh?

Then I tried the latest version of BlueSoleil (which was an unregistered version with a 2MB Data limit or whatever), and got the same results as WIDCOMM: paired the remote, no worky in Dolphin or FCEUX.

I've tried uninstalling WIDCOMM and BlueSoleil and only using one at a time, using an older version of BlueSoleil, and using different USB ports for the adapter. Nothing works. Also, I've read that I need ANOTHER program like GlovePIE to run scripts for the Wiimote to work in emulators.

What am I doing wrong?

I got the same adapter last week and hosed around a bit. I think I saw the same review and quickly read through the quick start guide. You ARE supposed to install the software first. At some point it'll tell you to plug in the adapter to complete the install. After that, I paired the wiimote fine. Dolphin detected it immediately the wiimote worked like on an actual Wii.

I'm just suffering from graphical glitches.

Ok, uninstalled everything and got the software to install without the adapter using the install in the "Win64" sub-directory. Gon restart and plug in the adapter.

Edit: Success...sort of. I tried iamsosmrt's instructions and Dolphin found the Wiimote! Then, I loaded up GlovePIE and FCEUX to use it as a Zapper, but it disconnected. It said the Bluetooth HID device driver couldn't start when I checked it out, so I removed the wiimote, rebooted, and re-paired it and it worked again. Now I'm messing around with GlovePIE to use the Wiimote as a mouse to play light gun games on my TV with a HDMI cable anda wireless sensor bar (which both work flawlessly, thank god).

It works with FCEUX, but the mouse moves too slow. I won't be able to try Wii games until later this week.

vvvThanks for the help, man, but I don't want to pay for a bluetooth stackunless I have to.

I can give you my experience, maybe it'll help

I bought a copy of Bluesoleil.
After installing it and restarting i have an icon on my desktop called 'bluetooth places' double click it to get two icons; "Search devices" and "My device".

Start your Wiimote up, press and hold 1 + 2, The 4 LEDs will start flashing.
This gives you about 30 seconds to do the next part.

Click the 'search devices' icon and a device should appear, it's usually called xx:xx:xx:xx, double click it, it should now be called "nintendo rvl-cnt-01".
Check to make sure it's linked by right clicking the device and clicking status.

Start up Dolphin.
Click the 'wiimote' icon on the main menu, if you've got a newer version the wiimote should vibrate.
All done

If it doesn't vibrate, make sure input source is set to 'Real Wiimote' if you've got an IR-LED bar. 'Hybrid Wiimote' if you're using a mouse for pointing.

Hope that helps

Is this still a thread about PCSX2?
Anyways I managed to get my games running great (except God of War 2) but the problem is I cant fully disable frame skipping. I have selected to disable, but it will always do what the numbers below are set for. So for now I have it set to draw 100 and skip 1 which is the less annoying setting, but my screen still flashes when that one frame skips. Its too annoying to me, especially when the games are otherwise running so perfectly.

-edit-
fixed. You have to use Shift F4, the menu itself doesnt work.

Is this also the defacto dolphin thread?
So I'm getting a new PC soon with one of the new i5-2500k's I am quite excited to emulate. I've got my PS2 games ready and waiting, PS3 controller, Xbox 360 controller... luckily the PS2 games seem (more or less) easy enough to do.

Dolphin however I know needs a bit in terms of other poo poo. I have a Wii. I've heard that you need a wireless sensor bar or something... does dolphin require you to actually hook up your Wii to the PC or something? I'm just really confused here If anyone has a good link to a Dolphin faq/site that would be much appreciated.

Just some quickies either way-

What peripherals do I need for either that I may not think of? I've thought of- wireless sensor bar and bluetooth adapter for the PC. Any links anyone has to reliable/cheap/SHIP TO AUSTRALIA of these?

Any issues with PAL stuff in general?

Any program that would be good for ripping PS2/Wii games onto my HD, I've heard it greatly increases load times/workability

Also FFXII- International edition... is there a legit english copy? Or a patch you can install on a legit copy of FFXII normal? I'm not asking for files, I don't care enough to download a 9+gb rip anyway, but I really want to play FFXII and thought if there was an easy way to play the new version then it'd be cool to but I really can't be bothered buying a copy off ebay or whatever

You can use two candles as your sensor bar instead, bonus for scented candles and it adds atmosphere.

The cheapest stuff will be from dealextreme. Example, $1.80 bluetooth adapter, free worldwide shipping http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11866

Expect 1-2 week shipping times though.

Last shipment was around 1 and a half months for me, I hear that Hong Kong post is overloaded and mail is being redirected to mainland china to cope with it which makes sense because that's what happened to my shipment.

Doing a little testing with my Wiimote and Dolphin on my desktop here, my wireless ensor bar works flawlessly as does my Wiimote, and New Super Mario Bros Wii and Excite Truck look and play beautifully.

However, trying to find a way for the Wiimote to emulate a mouse to play light gun games is a pain in the rear end. Every GlovePIE script I try to use to turn my Wii Remote into a mouse results in either nothing at all, my remote disconnecting, or erratic mouse behavior. The weird thing is though, it worked at my girlfriend's apartment on her laptop and on our LCD TV via an HDMI cable.

After scouring the internet via Google for hours, my only other choice seems to be dropping $65 ($40 + $25 shipping) on the EMS (LCD) TopGun II. It's a lot of money for a gun, but there doesn't seem to be any other solution right now.

Has anyone tried that gun, or could someone suggest another method to play light gun games on the PC?

I got this: http://www.meritline.com/komodo-nxp...---p-47352.aspx

The worst is using a 360 pad for SNES emulation though. Why switch a/b and x/y microsoft, why? Mentally mapping 360 to ps2 is not a problem since they're completely different symbols.

On a similar note it's really confusing why every Japanese ps2 game and NA ps2 game have x and circle switched for confirm/cancel. Even the same game, but from the two regions, will have reversed controls

Well in Japan ◯ and ☓ are like ✓ and ✗ so the Japanese games should be that way. I can think of more reasons that the non-Japan controls should be the same way than reasons they should be switched, though.

Looks to have a slightly better D-pad but its hard to tell from screenshots alone (they all got the same "Floating D-Pad"). Not that the difference, other than rumble or slightly longer grip, is all that big.
