im lucky in that the g19 finger grooves give me a perfect grip on the gun. i get a higher grip by choking up with my weak hand and placing my weak thumb/index finger further forward along the trigger guard/frame.

Since this is THE tactical tupperware thread and there hasn't been enough love for the .45acp Glocks, I thought I would dig up these old shots I took to show the size differences between the 3 45 versions of the Glock. G21, G30 & G36 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And for those who like to play around, the G36 and G30 slides are interchangeable and work just fine. The barrels themselves are not as the G30 has a larger overall diameter and will not fit in the G36 slide. Also fun to note, you can swap a G20 barrel into a G21, use G20 mags and have a 10mm frankenglock.

I haven't tried it and don't really have any desire to do so, but the reports I've read from the folks on GT who have are all favorable. One has reported a couple thousand rounds so far with no issues. One of those YMMV deals I guess. If you don't want to play mix-n-match with your factory stuff, there are conversion barrels available to do the same thing. I just thought it was neat that you could interchange parts

I wouldn't try it without a stronger recoil spring, at least.

A Glock thread huh?![]() G26 I used to have a big love/hate relationship with Glocks. They work and I can shoot them well...but they just didn't "do it" for me. I've bought and sold 4 already, not including the current 2. 2 17s and 2 19s Now that I'm broke and we need money, well it just seems silly to sell the utilitarian Glocks. The black 26 is mine, the OD my wife's and I just can't bare to part with them.

Ugh...why didn't I get the OD green G26 instead of the black one quote:Also fun to note, you can swap a G20 barrel into a G21, use G20 mags and have a 10mm frankenglock. Would the reverse also be true? Can I put a G21 barrel into my G20?

Plastic guns are pretty much asking to be given custom paint jobs. Do look at the paint wearing off as a bad thing. It is an excuse to try new colors and patterns.

The full size was really nice as well. I'd love to upgrade my G22, but really doing that before getting the 23 would be retarded, it would wind up the same way it did the first time where I was happy until I held the smaller one and then felt dumb for getting the big one.

Should be fine. I've seen older Glocks like that. Does everything move normally, and can you still take it apart and put it back together without any trouble?

With a Minotaur MTAC holster is there anything wrong with getting the "slide" version over one meant specifically for a G19? I don't plan on getting a larger Glock anytime soon but it's nice to have it just in case.

I can't see it having any negative impact on function.

That's what I thought. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't some problem with the bottom being open besides maybe getting dirty a little easier. Also should I order directly from Comp-Tac or is there a better place to get them?

Unless you can find one used, I think Comp-Tac is the only place that sells them.

I don't plan on getting a larger Glock anytime soon but it's nice to have it just in case. It's pretty much the only holster I've used for my Glocks so far and haven't run into any problems. The only other holsters I've used are the cheap Uncle Mike's IWB holsters and a closed end Comp-Tac for a Sig P239 and I don't see any more gunk buildup with the open end. Even if you aren't planning on buying another Glock I'd get the open-ended model just so you have the choice later on down the road without having to spend $34+shipping on a kydex body.

On an open-end MTAC, a Glock 19 will poke out just a little bit; a G26 will be about flush with the end. I don't have a G17 but I imagine it wouldn't be too unbearable.

The bottom being open makes it possible to accidentally move the gun up in the holster if you blatantly violate one of the four rules when you adjust your pants, like I do. There isn't really a way for me to explain it well (I've spent the last 10 minutes editing this post trying to), so here's a picture.![]() I realize that looks really awkward since I have my shirt out of the way, and because this picture is posed, but if you instinctively pull your pants up slightly when you stand up, you know what I mean. It's not a deal-breaker by any stretch, and if I had it to do over again I'd still get the slide model, despite the fact that the G19 is the only Glock that I own.

Comp-Tac also strongly recommends against using the slide model holster for any OWB CCW because it can be easy to push the gun up and out accidentally.

That's a good example and I don't disagree with you there, but as comfy as the MTAC is I'd rather just wear that and not have to worry about it.
