Was it like Reality Show Clip Time where repeated presence kind of drifted into some bizarre alternate way of saying it? Or did Joel just get there automatically. I love the slow spiral that "My Stories" has gone through where eventually Joel starting joking about what kind of music it was and it kept getting changed around. Is it like that? Pretty much, yeah. I would imagine that 99% of the people they make fun of on the show laugh about it themselves. The only people I can think of off the top of my head that are whiny babies about it are Spencer and Steven Segal.

I think Joel mentioned on an interview with the AVClub that most people aren't bothered by the show, but Tyra Banks detests it and complained to E! The soup awards had a good few celebrities on there that Joel has ripped into in the past. Particularly Wendy Williams, who just seems downright likeable.

Well after he says "Nickelback sucks", he does that nervous mumble thing where he said something like "I didn't write that they made me say it." I think that means that he objected to this line during brainstorming or in rehearsals, but the decision was made to keep it. Maybe I'm overthinking it.

PhonyMcRingRing posted:I can only assume by "sloppy" he meant "They were clearly having a good time filming this episode" That's part of it, but also it was a combination of the Bruno thing going off the rails, a lot of line flubs, and Joel looking more disheveled than usual. It did look like they were having a lot of fun, though.

I know that every year, they do a two-part show that show the best clips of the year, at some point they need to do a four or five part show that just has the best clips during McHale's entire run of the Soup. Or a best of the decade show.
