The "Sonic OC" one focuses on the guns and tactical gear, and only seems to be playing up the characters as "stoic badasses." The second one has the victims in the foreground and less detail given to the shooters. It seems to be trying to capture the horror of the massacre at the airport rather than glorifying it. From the second artist's gallery, he seems to be a big military nut, but even he got the point of the mission as intended by the game's writers. The kind of people who obsess over things like trenchcoats, Boondock Saints, and Shadow the Hedgehog OCs seem to lack any empathy or self-awareness. How could you play that level and not feel even a little uneasy about making fanart like the first image?

I think this fits here. Recently I happened upon someone who is a fangirl for... Karras, the villain of Thief II. Like, to the extent of semierotic fanart and such. I found this pretty funny for a few reasons: - Karras is an omnicidal maniac with a messiah complex who hates organic life and so would never do kisses with a lady; - Karras is encountered in person once, optionally, and has the same sort of blurry blocky model as the rest of Thief II's cast; - Karras sounds like this. Then I was linked this piece of art:  I lost it at this point (it's so anime!) and then I imagined him saying "draw me like one of your French girls" in that voice and lost it a second time.
