Yeah I don't get it either. I mean, ok great, we're all secure about ourselves enough to watch and enjoy it, and if you do, all the more power to you. I just feel like the forums just had this complete explosion over it, seemingly out of nowhere. People have been comparing it to The Powerpuff Girls (which I actually do really love) in terms of it's "able to break out of it's supposed target audience" spiel,(and yes I'm aware Craig McCracken's wife works on the show) but I watched about 10 minutes of the first episode and...yeah, sorry guys it's sort of just another kid's show to me.

I'm sure it's great for a kiddie show, like Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Lab and all that great stuff from my own childhood, I'm just not sure why everyone's flipping their poo poo over it now. I can't even go back to those old shows for a nostalgia trip without quietly hating how they're made. Is the slightest maturation in tastes outside the norm here? Am I the twenty-something version of a stodgy old snob?

You can like things at different levels of maturity simultaneously. I love Adventure Time, which to be honest revels in the fact that it's completely loving stupid, but I also adore The Magnificent Ambersons. It's not mutually exclusive. I tend to watch what fits my mood, and that can range from Dark City to Metropolis to Sesame Street.

Anyway, thanks to the upcoming crossover game, I hope you're ready to see a lot of stuff like this...

Always more Homestuck.

I can't exactly speak for the pony fans, but I think there's just a lot from Homestuck that's excellent. At the same time, it's really hard to get someone into it if they don't like the pace or how it's done. Of course, the fact that they both have really crazy fans doesn't exactly help.

No, just the style of jokes, sparse audio, pace, and often questionable voice acting. There are tropes and directorial decisions aimed squarely at viewers with limited cultural exposure and I don't care for them. I am no longer the target audience.

This is not to say it's bad content, or that my tastes are somehow better than anyone who can still watch Pinky & The Brain and enjoy it.

Really? I just chose that because it's a Prinny from Disgaea, so I thought it was some fan's mashup idea.

Also, Pinky and The Brain hasn't exactly stood up on rewatching (way too much slapstick and "we're genetically engineered mice" jokes). But Freakazoid is still as funny as ever, in my opinion.
