Everyone should play DUKE games.

I'm gonna have to buy Deadly Premonition a third time. I just hope they can fix all the glaring bugs in the PS3 version, like the frame rate issues and the glaring screen tear. But otherwise gently caress yeah another excuse to play Deadly Premonition again!

We should hang out, I too prefer my DP to be smooth and with minimal tearing.

Oh man, oh man, this is the best news ever. I've never been this excited to rebuy a game I've already played. I hope there's some teasers hidden within the Director's Cut that allude towards an actual followup, but that would just be the icing on the Sinner's sandwich.

You and me both. I kind of wish it would be for the PSVita, though; Deadly Premonition on a portable system would be the poo poo.

I thought it might be Fatal Frame 2 on the Wii, but no, this shall be the first game I buy twice. Don't even regret importing the original. It was worth it.

I just hope they rebalance enemy hitpoints. Never did play the first on hard...

I'm not too fond of the idea of Move Support, except if it's purely to do the finger tap on your chest during conversations.

But, like Deadly Premonition - This will be a day one purchase. No two ways about it.

Move support makes it sound like they'll be porting the shooting controls over like RE4 Wii edition. If it is anything like that, my god, the shooting might become slightly more bearable.

Or it might be updated for the QTEs when you're getting chased. That would be fun too. YOU WANT YORK TO SURVIVE YOU GOTTA GET YOUR FLABBY rear end UP OUT YOUR SEAT AND PUMP THOSE CRAZY ARMS.

I guess this is just another reason for me to get a PS3

YER MUSTACHE IS CROOKED

If there's a collectors edition/director's cut of Deadly Premonition and it only comes out for the PS3 I will probably buy a loving PS3 just to get it. Deadly Premonition is one of the best games I've played in a decade, mostly because it was so unexpectedly good at what it set out to do.

porkbun posted:

Some of those last ones are a bit spoilery.

Also, it's really bizarre, because a lot of that concept art is unquantifiably off in the same way the crappy character models can be at times. I don't know if that's intentional - and if it is, that's loving brilliant - or if it's just the game's usual charmingly flawed nature showing up as early as the concept art. Seriously, aside from a few cases I can't put my finger on why they feel slightly wrong somehow. I bet it's the proportions.

I mean, look at that arm. Just look at it.

I really really want to play Deadly Premonition. It's an amazing game with some of the best story and character I've ever seen in a game.
Unfortunately the last console I ever owned was a Commodor 64 and I probably will never buy a console.
So I just have to watch supergreatfriend's let's play of it one more time while eating a sinners sandwich and crying.

EDIT: I've heard a lot about Twin Peaks being inspiration for Deadly Premonition. Will it give me anything similar to Deadly Premonition fix if I watch it? Are they similar? Most importantly, is there an alternative to York in Twin Peaks? Because York pretty much makes the whole game for me.

Didn't he catch wind of SuperGreatFriend's Deadly premonition LP back when it was still ongoing and get super happy/bubbly about that?

^^^Twin peaks is surprisingly similar, but with different characters and no purple mist zombies. Agent Cooper is still quirky and weird, but in a different kind of way.

That's not to say that Twin Peaks doesn't have it's share of batshit crazy moments.

It's not just inspiration. Deadly Premonition is basically as close as you could get to making a video game of Twin Peaks without getting the pants sued off of you. Watch it.
