Many cultures don't recognize colors as primary and instead variate off them. Japan didn't have orange for the longest time too.

Western-culture actually is one of the cultures which doesn't fully recognize one of the "dominant" colors itself Cyan is recognized in many cultures as its own independent color

It's always goddamn Gerard. He's always the lynch-pin "most important thing" for every plot in this drat manga.

OH NO WHO IS GOING TO SAVE THE DAY??? Gerard, duh.

Of course Gazille won't get that cat now, but not for the reasons you all are thinking. Clearly it's Gerard's cat. I doubt Gazille wants sloppy Gerard cat seconds.

God this plan is stupid. PEOPLE WANT TO USE MAGIC, SO THEY QUARREL OVER IT. So I'll GET RID OF ALL OF IT.

It follows... PEOPLE QUARREL OVER OIL. Let's get rid of all of the oil! People quarrel over technology! Let's get rid of all of technology! Getting rid of a resource because it's rare is stupid as gently caress. THIS THING COULD BE USED FOR GOOD, BUT gently caress IT, LET'S GET RID OF IT BECAUSE MY DAD WAS A DICK.

It reeks of the mindset that humanity is too weak to handle themselves, so you have to cut off their hands so they can't do any harm. Blurr.

How dare people upload stuff they stole to other sites. Mangastream complains about people STEALING poo poo from them (stuff they don't own) which kind of shows yes, they just are attention whores.

They're not asking for money, all they're asking is that you read it the way the intended it to be presented- and yeah- maybe a little credit for making it coherent and pretty.

Except they're not asking, they're demanding. Again, you can go NICE WORK LADS and be appreciative to it in sentiment, but just because it's hosted elsewhere it doesn't mean you can't appreciate it. But if it's hosting somewhere stupid entirely because they want you to view their site for some reason, no that's beyond stupid. That's like those game companies putting in tons of stupid ANTI-PIRACY SOFTWARE when it 1. doesn't stop piracy and 2. just pisses off the legitimate buyers from how it squats on their system like an obstinate, annoying toad.

I've lead fansubbing efforts before. If people steal my poo poo and downgrade it or rehost it, whatever. We're still cited, and even then, the whole point of the process isn't LOOK AT ME, ZORAK, FABULOUS ANIME BUTTERFLY, but to share something good with other people.

Why? Somehow I've utterly failed to notice how fairy/grimoire law works.

Remember last chapter how both Hades and Makarov were going to use their version of it, but neither one because then the other would use his? In other words, it was a deterrence that prevented either one from using the spell.

Luxus also knows Fairy Law, so he'd have the deterrence built in as well.

I don't think it's like that, Fairy Law only worked on the enemies, so Grimoire Law probably does the same(but worse), Makarov must have stopped because of that. Maybe Luxus might pull it off since he's no longer a member of the guild.

No? They outright said HEY YOU BETTER NOT USE FAIRY LAW AGAINST MY GUILD OR ELSE ILL USE GRIMORE LAW AGAINST YOUR GUILD! HEY NOW WE CAN'T USE THIS SPELL BECAUSE OTHERWISE WE'LL KILL EACH OTHERS GUILD!

I am pretty sure the "teach her manners" is less a comment on her being a woman and more that she's the child of his master and apparently as a child they didn't learn sufficient manners from that mother/ master.

Hahaha this author is absolutely incapable of good pacing. He's onto something with this depressing stuff, get the despair up so you can have triumphant returns or whatever, but NOPE some guys show and go "hey those guys who disappeared a chapter and seven years ago? Turns out, nope they're not dead! No tension necessary guys, we'll return the status quo ASAP without any dramatic pacing

Timeskips are fine if they're actually done well. This kind of rushed lovely thing that uses no narrative skills whatsoever and immediately resolves it is kind of pointless.

When has Mashima ever demonstrated any kind of skill at storytelling? His world is a spiral of bright colours and big boobs where the main characters are always right and it's all tied together with a Dragon-Quest-meets-One-Piece sense of imagination and adventure. If you're reading this to be tickled by the subtle nuances in changing inter-character relationships or top-notch storytelling your going to be left disappointed. It's a big Japanese Boy's Own adventure.

Except you know, just because it's a kiddy adventure doesn't mean there can't be good pacing. One Piece for example has fantastic narrative pacing, and it's sort of the Same Thing.

It's more like the author is incapable of even a modicum of set up and pointing out how he once again blew a good chance to do something reasonably interesting with the pacing that kind of kills the entire point of the chapter.

On the other hand, the only reason you care about these guys is because you got them doing things for awhile. Ok, I am fairly certain Alkanphel doesn't read this thread anymore (or, at the least, hasn't posted in here in eight months) and it is 1. big, 2. old, and 3. dead in the OP so it's time for a new thread. Who is up for it?

If you are up for it, just say so and potentially post your OP in this thread first so people can weight in and offer suggestions if necessary.
