Streaming video broadcasts of casual gameplay has become increasingly popular in the LP subforum, so perhaps we should address its popularity with a thread specifically for such ventures. Welcome to the Let's Stream Megathread. This is a thread where regular-type folks can find streams that may be to their liking. It is also a place where LPer-type folks can advertise THEIR streams without bumping threads they've already got for no good reason. Feel free to talk about streams as well, but remember that there are stream chats for a reason! What is a stream? A stream is a live broadcast, in our case people playing video games live. Streams are done through a site like Ustream or something similar. How can I get my stream in the OP? Post the name, link to the stream, the chat channel if you're on UStream (some users like to access them through IRC), and if possible a form of contact so your viewers know when you're going to stream (such as twitter) and when you're most likely to stream. I'd like to keep the OP uncluttered, so I won't be adding one-time-only streams to the OP. Also please only post your stream when you know exactly when your next stream will be, preferably in the very near future, as in the next hour or two. If possible, also give me a stream ID number so I don't have to go digging around for it, but I can handle that if need be. I'm not here to do much Quality Control. I'm not going to make sure every stream is great, I'm just here to compile it all into one nice thread. Do things your way, I'm not gonna tell you how you should do it. (As long as it isn't poo poo.) Record your streams! UStream has a nice big Record button right next to the Broadcast button. This isn't mandatory by any means but it doesn't really take anything to click it. Everything is done on UStream's side, and it's really nice to be able to go back and watch a stream you missed. Relax. Streams are probably not going to be as high in quality as a regular LP, since they're generally spontaneous and are done live. Don't expect cutting edge editing or anything dumb like that, just relax and have fun watching some idiots play video games. Just have fun! The Three-Month Rule still applies! If you're streaming something that's newer than three months, don't post about it here. You can still stream it, just...don't post it on the forums. slowbeef posted:Hi all. Gasp. This would allow me to stay in full motion with whatever my favorite LP'ers who do this do. We just need a stream for every day of the week. or maybe every other day of the week. Quick question, would people still follow the 3 month rule when using u-stream?

I've got a stream that supposedly starts every saturday at 9:00 eastern time, but probably won't get going until half an hour later. It's the Freelance Astronauts stream! Here's a helpful chart. Here is my stream, The House of Bad Grammar. I tend to stream more often around 11 PM EST - 2 AM EST depending if in the mood that evening. I won't stream when another stream is broadcasting through. The chat name is #the-house-of-bad-grammar and I will start to annouce streams broadcasting in either the #lets-play channel or my Twitter.

Now that I've got a good setup that won't gently caress up the stream, I'll be trying to stream more regularly. Usually whenever I feel like, but Friday for sure. I've been hanging out in Ambisagrus's stream for the past few times, my Ustream name is Lilarcor because I like to make all of my usernames nerdy references to old RPGs but that name was already taken on SA. So if you're wondering who the guy in the chat is with the name you can't pronounce at all, that's me. I think it's a bad sign that I got so desensitized to Jamesman reading horribly graphic fanfiction that I could start eating during descriptions of Harry Potter getting eaten alive by dick spiders.

In an effort to bring a little variety to this thread, I'll plug my stream, Red Coin LIVE! I stream League of Legends matches, World of Warcraft raids (of the goon guild Famiglia di Ythrl), and other random PC poo poo. I don't stream very often, but when I do it's usually on the weekend. I post on my Twitter feed when I'm streaming and will start posting here too. My stream is on Livestream for now, so I don't really have an IRC channel but there is still chat. Also, if anyone wants to quickly keep up with LP Twitter feeds, follow my LP Twitter list to follow a bunch of bros in one fell swoop. PM me or twat at me if you feel like you should be on it; otherwise, I'll just keep it up to date with the accounts posted in this thread.

Over the next week, starting probably this friday, maybe later, I'm going to do a series of streams of Darksiders, three month rule be damned. Probably going to be playing through the whole game. They'll be probably starting around 9 or 10 CST and running until pretty late, most likely around 3 AM. Hope you have caffeine! Or a horrible sleep pattern like me! That reminds me. When two or more people's streaming schedules overlap, the streamers could decide together to do it on Sartak's race page, couldn't they? They'd probably need to have someone to configure the page as needed, though.

Was gonna say last night's stream was kinda below average levels of awesome, felt a little bit forced at the beginning and took us a while to warm up... until pokecapn and casual ustream trolling stepped up to the plate.
