Do you guys think this will be GOTY for 2011 or for 2012 as well? I think that unless Company of Heroes 2 comes out, RO:HOS got 2011-2012 locked.

Gonna probably spend $2000 on a new computer for this game. I wanna have TRIPLE-X HYDRO COOLING GAMING EFFICIENCY so I can load up the map first and pick sniper and shoot 3 bullets per hour. *Realism*.

Apparently, the beta testers found the game too difficult so now health packs will be placed at strategic locations and it will take 4-5 bullets to kill a man, instead of what tripwire planned originally. Direct quote: "This decision was made due to financial constraints in our (Tripwire's) budget, forcing us to add in features that would go and get a larger share of the casual gamer market. Hardcore gamers may be upset but know that RO:S is not as hardcore as RO:Ostfront. The new HUD will have twice the features of the old game, helping newer gamers settle in. A stamina meter, an onscreen objective guide, a manpower counter are just a few of the things that will be found in RO:S and were not in RO:Ost. Don't worry though, after the changes were put in place, beta testers found the game much more fun and one of them casually mentionned "it's call of duty in ww2". We know this isn't pleasant to a few ears around here but it's indicative of how fun it will be." source: Tripwire announcement (USER WAS PUT ON PROBATION FOR THIS POST)

EvilHobo posted:Delayed death messages are being done right. Doesn't this just encourage people to stand still to see if they actually killed the person? I don't know, something about these videos is putting me off. I'm still getting the game but something feels weird and not in the good way.

Given that we are PC gamers, how about just letting the server operator decide between a) Instant death messages b) Delayed death messages c) No death messages. From here, players will flock to the servers that pander to their preferences.

I didn't like it when he was in the deepest smoke I've ever seen in a video game and his allies names appeared without problem. Have they confirmed that they only appear within 10-20 meters?

Those maps seem absolutely tiny. edit: vvv eggcellent. vvv I would hope that the maps would be smaller only because of player count like BF2/BF3 but hey, this is an okay compromise. Pr0phecy fucked around with this message at Aug 24, 2011 around 02:06 |

I'm curious to know if your soldier will stay completely silent only when you reach a higher level. Rookie soldiers screaming their lungs off while the veterans stay quiet. Would definitely be the coolest thing imaginable.

I don't know if it's me, but I just don't find this game that fun. It might be the constant fatigue of what I consider to be cod-esque maps, a lot of bugs and general jerkyness. I loved RO1 and Ro:ostfront to death but this, a strong 6/10 EH. Note that I know tripwire has their poo poo down and this game will more than likely be an 8-9/10 in a few months.

Tokubetsu posted:309 kills for human being is ridiculous. I've been to schools that had less people than she's killed. IIRC, there was a German MG-Gunner on the beach of Omaha that claimed that he killed ~2000 people with his MG42, his K98k and his pistol. He only stopped because he ran out of ammo. I saw this on the history channel so the probability that aliens were somehow included or that this is a tale of fiction are ~47%.
