Also, grey/silver tabbies are the best cats everyone knows this. Keep us posted on what you decide to do, either way, and post more pictures. Can't ever get enough pictures of a grey tabby.

You do realize the cat killed that racoon, not a car, knowing full well that it would give you that opportunity to lie? I guess what I'm saying is now you two are even so far as to be considered partners in crime.

He watched me putting them in a trash bag the other day and I tried making big gagging faces every time I saw one but then I stopped because I felt bad because I thought of him killing a mole then thinking "Oh you know who would love this?" and I didn't want to embarrass him. I'll head outside now and snap some pics of Suzanne. She's big and brown and, honestly, just not cute like Chalmers is. Also she's super needy and follows me around meowing for attention non-stop. Plus she sleeps on my deck furniture all day. Your cat does this because it feels you are a terrible hunter, and is trying to feed you and train you to hunt.

It is WAY easier to get a cat to start scratching something than to stop. With that in mind I'd just put down a scratcher in the room with the couch and get him using that. Then make your partner read this post. Dear criscodisco's partner, Hi, how are you? I just would like you to know that all of us Internet strangers are very happy for the new bundle of feline joy in your lives. I understand you are concerned about your fancy furniture, and I am totally on board with that. I have several articles of furniture that I would be devastated if my cat destroyed. In order to allay at least some of your fears I would like to show you a picture. This is my cat. She is on my couch. The couch is Italian leather. She doesn't use the couch as a scratching post, and has only minorly scuffed the leather when running through the house (which blends in with the other normal wear and tear that leather undergoes anyways). I think you'll find that if criscodisco manages to keep up on clipping the cat's claws on a semi-weekly basis, your couch fabric (which is gorgeous btw) will never show any signs that a cat ever touched them. Except for the fur. You're on your own there.

I keep seeing cat grass growing kits, but I assumed it was just a tin of fresh cat nip. Yeah they're different. Cat grass is just a random type of grass, usually wheatgrass. Also I'm glad you qualified your claim with 'boy cat' otherwise we would have had to fight.

And yes their coats are just classic tabby. Not the most common pattern but it is the one that's kind of considered the 'standard' coat for your average cat. (It's also objectively the best coat pattern).

This is the stupidest post made in this thread to date, even if it's a joke. I gave up on live plants long ago. To my knowledge there's no way to completely keep cats away from them, short of keeping the plants in a closed room. And yes, unaltered male cat piss is one of the worst odors on earth. I don't even know how you handle it now. Does the room where the litter box is in smell? The last time I went somewhere with unaltered males I didn't even pet them and still had to wash my clothes when I got home, the smell had seeped into my clothes.

A cat needs to sunbathe, I think it's like a biological imperative or something. Every cat I've ever known or even seen a picture of sunbathed with great purpose. As with all things cat related, the best way to deal with it is direction. Leave one open that will get sun that is in a place YOU can decide. The cat's natural resistance to effort will override its sunbathing imperative and it will just use the sun it can find. That's about as good as you're gonna do.
