I'm rocking the padded one. The difference in price is the quick adjust (I believe). You'll want one with the adjuster so that you can shoulder easily offhand.

The "Victory" series of slings are functionally the same as the Vickers sling, but the adjustment slider on the victory series is made out of polymer, instead of steel.

Don't put a magazine in the small of your back. It's awkward to get to, and if you fall and bust your rear end you're going to really hurt.

It was pretty cool. The grip didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. It was hard to judge the whole package because of the $30 dot sight, but it shot pretty well. The stubby little HK-branded 5-round mag was cute. It fed and fired Wolf fine, and I easily got good, fast hits at 25 and 50 yards. The recoil impulse did seem slightly sharper but not to the point where it was detrimental to follow-up shots. Maybe the giant brake helped out there too.

Keeping the pistol mags on my 8 o'clock and the rifle mag on my 6.5 seems to be pretty comfy so far.

What's your advice? Move the rifle mag closer to 8 o'clock?

Pistol mags at 10-11 o'clock and rifle mag at 8-9 o'clock.

While next Sat is out for me.. I would like to make next time 'productive'

I think we are all sighted in, so thoughts on drills I/we can do at the local indoor range or the next time we get all together ?

Setting up paper plates apart and putting 2 rounds in each seemed to be a good start for pistol, but I think my rifle is going to need more work, simply for the fact i need more face time with it.

Edit: Is that magpul sling padded? I'm thinking FDE to be different.

It's comfy until you fall on your rear end and get a spinal injury.

Reaching behind your back is a lot of wasted movement. Get it scooted closer to the gun.

Not that I'm high speed but I found that with my chest rig the mags right near/under my weapon arm were harder to get to than the ones more at my 12/veering to my 2 (I'm left handed).

Rifle mags should go from the center to your weak hand side. Pistol mags should float toward the center. Shotgun shells should be closer to your strong hand side, with the rim facing the strong hand side.

I'm trying to keep my magazine pouches IPSC-happy.

The 9 o'clock + 3 o'clock rules disagree with that configuration, methinks.

How viable is something like this. That dump bag that Foghorn poosted was molle. That's a pretty good chest rig for $80, but how well would it fare for some of the crawling and climbing?

IPSC has rules about mag pouch placement? I could have sworn that it's ok to put them anywhere. I know IDPA has mag pouch placement rules.

No additional hardware, just slings and QD swivels. It's a bit odd how they rig it, look for some images online or I can email you a pic of my sling mount.

Got my comp via USPS today. Took 2 of those little metal shims to fit it right, but it seems snug.

Did you do anything else when you installed yours or was it just plug n play?

EDIT: Did you ever get that reloading set?

Plug and play. Then again, I had a gunsmith do it.

Yeah, I got that reloading set. I spent last night reloading all 85 rounds I have last night.

I'm working with Kitsch on a reprinting. Shoot her a PM with your size, team name, and quantity. Perhaps she can bundle the PA stuff as well.

PM me size and quantity, I'll handle the order and split shipping. Do we want "PA Team Wilfred Brimley" or just "Team Wilfred Brimley" on the back? I'd prefer no PA. I CAN'T DECIDE, HELP ME.

We are adding a ring of tape or something around them to easily identify them.

I am also going a step further and numbering them like i do my AK mags to identify potential problem mags

I see the practicality of that. You can bench them out of further stages. Very logical if you rely on those to continue. How many mags do you run on average?
