That's another thing I didn't put in the OP, 90s DNB. Here's some to rectify that:

LTJ Bukem - Music: This one was also included in Tayla's Soul Survivors mix that I recommended earlier in the thread.

XWR3HppFUxM[/]

Roni Size & Reprazent - Trust Me: From their album New Forms, which is widely regarded to be one of the best DNB albums of the 90s.

CxeStgwA6gk[/]

Goldie - Timeless: From his album Timeless, also one of the best DNB albums of the 90s, and considered by many to be the best DNB album ever. This is just half of the song because YouTube only allows 10 minutes, but you can get a sense of the scale of this track, even though it's only a preview of sorts.

dxbLIgQft_I[/]

There's also the radio station MSX FM from Grand Theft Auto 3, which contained a pretty good mix of DNB/jungle tracks. This track's from 2001, but it's still got that older DNB style to it:

Omni Trio - First Contact

I love all these tracks and artists. My first dnb album was Conversions by Kruder and Dorfmeister from like 1996, which was just a 10 track mix of a bunch of jungle artists that were big around that time (Omni Trio, Aquasky, Roni Size)

That 90s' jazzstep sound is still what I listen to the most when I play jungle, shame it's not as popular anymore. Liquid is pretty drat good too though, and luckily there's tons of it.

shoutout to zeldadude.

Hook me up with some dancehall/ragga flavored Jungle. I heard that's how jungle got started in the first place, and I been listening to tons of Buju Banton lately. I'd love some jungle with riddims and toasting. :)

I'm sort of new to drum n bass and really prefer the laid back, atmospheric stuff more. Tracks like this:

Big Bud - Soul Food:

Anyone got any suggestions? I've already binged through LTJ Bukem's stuff.

These tracks are absolutely gorgeous, especially the first one. I love the combination of Rhodes organ and dnb.

Rageaholic Monkey has a great post on the first page about Ambient dnb/jazzstep (http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3291798#post375332672), really great suggestions.

Here's some tracks I like:

Well actually, what's the difference between half-step and just regular breakbeat/breaks? The BPM is the same, those half-step tracks that were posted sound like breaks to me. Hip-hop, too, is around 90 BPM...

Half step's kick-snare rhythm is usually more spread out. DNB breakbeats are usually kick--snare--kick-snare @ 170+bpm. I typed a bunch of other stuff that only halfway made sense and deleted it. It should be pretty easy to hear the difference.

Edit: Aren't breaks around 125 or 130bpm? Or did you not mean that type of breaks?

Nah you're right, my bad.

Nookies mix is loving profound dude.

Also, for all the die hard pendulum fans, do you like the Qemists?

I like their remixes a lot too.

I'm not much of a die-hard pendulum fan, but I gently caress with the Qemists. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25jaxlXk7pA

The Reso remix destroys it, though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJIwyiqsWj8&feature=PlayList&p=813C21A8B36F0F6D&playnext_from=PL&index=15

You probably already know about this, but...

S.P.Y - Simple Things
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dXlQbejIDw&feature=related

It's a remix of Zero 7's Waiting Line (Sia on vocals). Supposedly it's a S.P.Y track, I've seen a few different names on (SPY on two occasions though) it as well as "unknown bootleg".

Thanks for this.

Yeah I think so too. It's crazy seeing how quickly you've been progressing over the last couple months. Just keep at it, you seem to have a real natural feel for how to make a chill, grooving, liquid track.
