Some of you may or may not have seen my photos in the Reandom Cellphone Picture thread. Well, as my pictures were basically neither random or taken on a cellphone they didn't really fit, but I got a lot of good comments and feedback and was encouraged to make my own thread. So, here we go.

Long story short, I'm an expat in Hong Kong who was blown away by the car scene here. A couple of years ago I bought a digital camera and just started snapping the things I came across on the roads. This became a bit of a hobby and now you can often find me out and about with my trusty camera. Ok, less talk and onto the pics. btw, I really appreciate your comments, advice, etc. So, don't be shy!

(I've recently added a watermark to my photos. If it is frowned on to have a link to another website let me know and I will take it off.)

These are the most recent from the last couple of weeks that I didn't put in the cellphone thread. I will put up some of he better older spots later and I'll annotate the pics with some info, but right now I have to rush to work:

Thanks so much for taking time to give me some feedback. I do appreciate it and I will keep it in mind when snapping in the future. A problem I face is that 75% of my shots are taken of moving cars and with next to know time to set up the shot. Ironically almost all the really good stuff I have seen has been shot this way. The more I learn the more these techniques will become natural I hope.

Thanks for all the positive comments people. I really appreciate every single one! let me know what you want to see and I will post them up from my collection; supercars, modified stuff, classics, etc.

Quite a good number of cars owned by enthusiasts get used with intent at Zhuhai International Circuit over the border in China but it is sadly true that many of the supercars are purely status symbols. Not unlike anywhere else really.

Thanks. The picture will tide me over until my lazy mechanics have finished with mine.

It needed some work after I put it in a ditch. It is getting it's timing belt done, a new radiator, oil cooler, battery, some factory xenon headlights fitted, a new front bar and maybe a front mounted inter-cooler to replace the factory one. Plus a load of small things that I broke and cannot be bothered listing.

assuming you're in the US, it isn't so much the photo as it's the fact that it's an entirely different car.
The policeman is standing on a little island between lanes too, either waiting to cross or just checking things out.

I didn't realize Honda had shipped the boring things emerging from the end of the assembly plant to North America. I'm in Canada, so I expect the Canadian-market version is identical except for maybe the hubcaps or something to the US-market version. And DRLs, I guess.

Looking again, I can see the bit of curb the cop is standing on, but at first glance that picture looks like he's standing in the middle of a traffic lane.

And that GTI picture is still just awesome.

That colour combination seems really strange on that car. That thing basically appeals to the same potential buyers as the Maybach and various Rolls Royce type things, right? So what possessed Bentley to go with blaze orange?

Yeah the orange/black color scheme is from something called the RRR group based in UAE (not sure if it is Dubai or Abu Dhabi or somewhere else). There is a whole thread dedicated to the RRR group cars over at Supercars Dubai and they offer this explanation:

Supercars Dubai posted:

It's a Group for shk Rashid Ben Humid Al Nuaimi ( Ajman Muncipality Dirictor ) which contain his super cars and his friend'd car also .. most of the cars r SUPER and alot of them coloured in orange/black ..

I don't think the Bentley I took a pic of has anything to do with the UAE guys, but I may be wrong. As I haven't been out today here are a couple of digging in the crates pics for you. I'll title this bunch Rare and Rocking Horse poo poo.

Here is a DMC Deloreon of Back to the Future fame complete with authentic licence-plate. I know you can buy re-conditioned ones but apparantly I have heard from other sources that this is all original. It's the only one I have ever seen on the road or anywhere else for that matter. I was surprised by how compact it was and how loud the engine rumbled. Notice how the majority of people here don't even notice the exotic cars on the roads - fools, fools I tell you!

You don't see these everyday. McLaren F1 on the road, unofortunately as they have a central driving position you cannot officially register them here (only RHD can be registered), so there is a high chance the owner would get the car impounded if he couldn't prove he was a dealer and taking it between two businesses. Shame. I can only begin to imagine the special cars we'd have on the road if we could register LHD.

A Ferrari 365 GT/4 in white. I don't have any idea how many of these were produced in white but a GIS only trawls up a scale model. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the only one in existance and it's certainly an immaculate example. It was just sat there in a back street poking out of someone's private garage. Respect to the owner for driving it and keeping it in such good shape.

White Ferrari F40 just sat there at the traffic lights. To say I almost browned my pants is an understatement. So thankful I had my SE cellphone which had a pretty good camera at the time. I originally thought this was the only white F40 in existance but I know Chris Evans has one and I know of a car in Japan. This could be one of those though as it was on T-plates and cannot be registered for the reasons mentioned above. I am pretty sure this car is an ex-Sultan of Brunei car after doing some research a while back. This is personally my favourite car I have seen here.

Although this one is somewhere up there. A blue Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Spyder or 'Daytona' as it has indelibly been tagged. A very reliable source tells me there are only two original RHD Daytona Spyders in this colour existance. I'm not sure if this is authentic or a cut, but I do know that it is a very special car. Just drink it in.

When you thought you couldn't get better than a Daytona Spyder in the world of drop top Ferraris, this. A 250GT California, up until recently this car in this colour was the most expensive car (officially in the world) when Chris Evans paid $8.5M+ for the ex-James Coburg car. I had actually photographed this car driving on the road before by mistake when I was trying to snap a 250GT Competizione but didn't notice until after seeing it again here and revisiting the (terribly blurred) photo.

Hong Kong has a mad passion for Pagani Zondas, the Cinque editions were commissioned here and that infamous picture of the smashed C12 was taken here too, but I had never seen one on the road (but four in showrooms) until this day. Not an understated car as it is, it's extra loud in vitamin C orange. Bonkers car.

I thought these were supposed to be rare but I have seen at least three. This black one with the Balboni stripes was a real head turner. I'm still on the fence about the colour scheme but it certainly gets people talking. Double-bonkers!

While the standard Murcielago may be somewhat common, this 40th Edition one was limited to 50 in number. The Murci has really grown on me in recent times having met me with a lukewarm reception back in the day. It's a real supercar in the traditional sense - low, loud, lairy and uncompromised. Love it!

lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary. The stuff of every boys dreams in the 80's. Prefer it in LP500S guise, but this'll do nicely.
