Urgh... lately I've been getting heaps of problems with trying to join private games and getting a failure to connect to the host.

Turns out that Drydock is a pretty great Horde map. If you defend the East side there's only really three approaches and plenty of covered areas to keep safe from Gunkers or play chasey with Berzerkers. Edit: goddamn quick play in KOTH sucked, today. No spawning or technical issues, but just poo poo like joining a game of two low-level folks playing splitscreen against a team of level 100/high-nineties. I realise quick play is just to get everyone to get a game and stuff but at least make some sort of attempt to balance it. I usually gauge the days matches by the first one, first one went so well, nice and competitive, did well, then everything just went to poo poo, from wall bouncing bullet eaters to quite possible the worst connection I've ever seen privy to. And I can't believe I have almost 500 gnasher kills, I don't even like the gun.

Raam's Shadow DLC is up but it's currently bugged and will try to charge you even if you have the season pass. A friend of mine already accidently bought it.

The Season Pass DLC still isn't up but there's Mint and Candy Cane weapon skins! Woo! edit: I really like how the Mint Hammerburst looks, I want this permanently now.

Are the new gun skins permanent? They don't have the same type of icons as the others do. Just generic Gears 3 icons.

Don't think so, I believe one of the other events (Halloween) had an orange skin that you didn't keep. I'm also not getting free fortifications.

Playing RAAM's Shadow now, it's pretty intense, although the parts where you play as RAAM are kinda boring. Also Tai's pseudo mystic spiritual take on all things, however mundane gets old pretty fast. That said, it's awesome but it looks to be on the shortish side. Not sure if it's worth $15. It does seem a little more difficult than the standard campaign and some of the combat areas area pretty well thought out and cool.
