Occasionally the last ticker will refuse to go into the laser/blow up, but he'll come at you if you hit the button.

This may have been patched out finally, but is there still a free roaming ghost cam in ranked? That is the one thing they need to fix in Gears 3 and I have no idea why they changed it from the original.

Yes, you can still free roam ghost cam and tell your party where people are hiding or where frags are tagged. It's not really THAT big of a deal, especially if you play annex. I'd be more pissed if they went the MW2 route and didn't allow you to use parties online. It's getting real hard reading the official Gears.com forums. It's nothing but petitions to take out stopping power, make it "gritty" like Gears 1 (in other words, make every shadow pitch black), and overall just gears 1 gears 1 gears 1. There's a complaint for literally everything that kills you, and the answer is always because it's "overpowered".

Speaking of SDCC, the next xp bonus has been announced. From July 22-25, xp will be however many followers Rod Fergusson of Epic has divided by 500. So right now he has around 4,000 followers, which means x8 xp. At 4,500 followers, it will be x9, etc. I really regret not taking advantage of these events before. I think I just settled on never reaching 100 (I'm only 50 at the moment, which is good enough for me). Still there's plenty of time for this to get in ridiculous numbers.

I haven't really been keeping up with the news on GoW 3 too much, though I loved the first two. Has any information been released on GoW 3 having bots for local multiplayer like part 2 ? I'm sure most people never bothered playing Gears 2 MP offline but I really appreciated the feature. I'm on satellite internet and while it is quite fast enough for browsing and videos and can download XBLA games and patches just fine, the lag is too great to play online with any success (1460 ms last I checked). In fact, the only 360 game I've EVER successfully gotten into a game with was Borderlands, and you can imagine what kind of a lovely mess that was with lag like that. I really like the Gears story and the fact that I could enjoy Gears 2's multiplayer component was just awesome. I really hope they will reveal or HAVE revealed if GoW 3 will retain this feature. I'd imagine that since it was in part 2 it should be a fairly easy thing to port over, but I fear that the feature was used by so few people that they won't bother.

Personally I can't wait to see what kind of new rendering techniques they use on Baird's frosty tips. ~so dreamy~ Baird is so CliffyB's dream man. It's kind of creepy. also if you haven't seen this in Gears 2, go to the cutscene when they cut out of the worm, note that even while completely covered in worm-gore, Baird's tips are still frosty. The ultimate bro.
