Killing void rays is probably my favorite thing in all of Starcraft. Even better, I think, than killing reapers. This guy would have been much better served making Colossi, we were only fighting lings and hydras vs. zealots/stalkers for like 20 minutes. I will have to say, I'm not so salty that there isn't a little "gulp" moment when I first start hearing that distinctive void ray hum: Click here for the full 859x371 image. Good guys win! Yay! Click here for the full 671x491 image. And celebrate with some fireworks: Click here for the full 619x477 image. At least there wasn't the Dark Templar followup, just a last gasp of a few voids at my natural and a GG shortly thereafter.

It's 2v2. The opponents are favoured to win. My ally times out in the first minute or so. I win I was Protoss, and just got four gates up and spammed zealots and stalkers. I was helped along by my ally's mining which never got touched.

Aeldaar posted:I am pretty sure that your teammate timing out immediately is an advantage in 2v2 Yeah, if your ally times you you can get insanely early rushes that literally can't be defended against. You also have the advantage that you have only one set of tech structures and upgrades rather than two.

Canine Blues Arooo posted:Why do zerg players in plat constantly 6-pool? Is it really that effective that often? It's just an invitation to get rolled over. I imagine playing zerg is kinda frustrating and stressful for bad or mediocre (or good) players, so when it gets to be too much you just do a little 6pool action to unwind. It's like a custom map but you can grind up some ladder points while you're at it (if your hidden rating is low enough)

Aeldaar posted:I am pretty sure that your teammate timing out immediately is an advantage in 2v2 I think outside of a super early rush it's surely a big disadvantage. They can build workers at twice the rate, and you'll be hardpressed to defend your timed out ally if they do send troops there.

After losing to a 6-pool and getting thor rushed twice in a row, I was finally able to beat my most hated nemesis: The marine/marauder rush! While I'm sure fending off such a rush from a mediocre platinum player will seem trivial to most, it is literally the first time I have won against such a thing. Now if only I can keep my first colossus from getting supply blocked...

I had a game last night where I took out approx. 100 of my opponents Zerglings in his final push with 8 Banelings. It was glorious. Full replay here (it's not the best match apart from the Baneling destruction, which is at around 22 minutes); http://screplays.com/replays/rhymez/7384 And here's some quick screenshots of it if you don't have time for the replay. Yes, he went for an all in push at the end that included his drones. ![]() ![]() ![]() He probably would've won had the Banelings not done so spectacularly well.

Not huge, but I played a 4v4 the other day where all 3 of my teammates left: YES, 4 base income! My starting income was ridiculous, so I got up as many warpgates as fast as I could & stopped them from expanding. Then I teched up to carriers and mowed through their bases. It was the most fun I've ever had playing Starcraft 2. tldr; won 1v4 (low 4v4 league)

Just watched these, and these are really nice! Your game looked really solid. Both games were kind of similar in that you went speedling into mass hydra and he went with the mixed gateway combo and added colossi. Is it me or does he grab an expand a bit earlier than a lot of Protoss? I like how in both games you really kept the pressure on him which I often find a bit hard due to the slowness of hydras. You did well in game one spreading your creep out to him though. Your early speedling runs into his minerals really set the tone for both games, but particularly in the first where you set him back enough to allow you to really power macro over him the rest of the game. Once you had critical mass Ultras it was really GG especially since he couldn't forcefield you away from his colossi anymore. He really wasn't a noob, was decent using his forcefields to augment the power of his army. Second game it seems like you are a bit later scouting or responding to his colossi, so his first push seemed like it was able to kill a lot more army of yours making the game a lot closer. Nice use of the Broodlords instead of Ultras, I have a hard time keeping those things alive. It wasn't obvious to me why you chose the one tech instead of the other but it worked out for you, you got into a nice rhythm of making new ones as he sniped them down.
