Does HBOGO have any of season one? Or are they doing Season two? I've never used it, myself.

Also you shouldn't like ever.

EDIT: for clarity

Constant leg and knee shots aside, Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson are entertaining together enough for me to watch the show. I missed the first few episodes so I don't know about the story at large, but I've enjoyed the show pretty well so far.

If you are in an area that you are unsure of, even if it looks zombie free don't fire a gun, get into a fight with someone or start breaking poo poo. Loud noise attracts zombies, so ALWAYS BE AS QUITE AS A MOUSE!

I honestly enjoy when the cast of a show about criminals are horrible people. It's refreshing to see people being horrible criminal bastards because they want money, power, and etc, not because they've got some justification, you've just got pretty horrible people doing pretty horrible things to each other.

This is one of the reasons I stopped taking the show seriously long ago. Michael is portrayed as a huge badass, and his name is very well known in the intelligence community. He's supposed to be a high level operative. And he never kills anyone? Ever? Not even blatant sociopaths that cause him continual problems and are a danger to everything around them?

Who decided that, and why?

Because KILLING PEOPLE IS BAD.
Duh.

The show was pretty good from the get go, if somewhat formulaic but the plot has gone down hill since the second season. I mean, Jere Burns has been a constant bad guy for the past two seasons and he really hasn't helped any. There's a couple of good episodes in most seasons but on the whole the show has been kinda lame.

There's an episode where he's trapped in a mangrove swamp and he hunts and kills an entire arms dealer's gang, so he does kill people every so often.

The first few seasons were a lot better than the later ones, though.

No he doesn't. He just wounds and injures them. They all climb into a truck later. Michael has killed a handful of people in the show, and outside of the pilot it's been generally very dramatic. He never outright kills a dude on screen until like season three, and that's a dude who sent some bad dudes after Fiona. He does, however, get people set up to be killed by dudes constantly. But they're all jerks so Michael is really just saving himself the cost of a bullet.

My phone has a variety of tones for omar whistle to archer clips to Deus Ex: The Recut. Oh and dinosaur sounds. Jurassic Park.

It's not as obnoxious as you might think since I leave my phone on silent all the time.

Fake Edit: he does kill some dudes during that CIA mission at the start of season five, now that I think about it. But they're goons whose entire onscreen time is spent getting shot.

I'm not a film geek. But as I understand it, it's got to do with the compression required to get the movie onto a DVD. Films on the big screen have a huge resolution, otherwise they'd look like utter poo poo for the people in the first few rows. VHSes and DVDs couldn't handle that much information, only with blu-rays are we getting the data capacity and transfer speed required for that kind of quality.

Like I said, not a film geek. I could be completely wrong.

Pretty much this. Actual film has a huge amount of detail to it, 'resolution' doesn't quite fit. When they tried to make that happen for DVD's and VHS and stuff, it lost quality due to compression and poo poo. Now that there's so much space on a Blu-ray disc and it has such high throughput, they can have stupid high resolutions that kind of actually compare to the original film. Now they just digitize the original film again and are able to preserve so much more of the actual quality.

They can do crazy things to old film now, even upgrading what it would normally look like from a projector. NatGeo had some marathon about "Secret" places or something like that and I watched a bit where they up-converted/analyzed films of the Kennedy assassination, trying to look for Oswald in windows and stuff. The differences were pretty goddamned awesome.

Season four was really... uninteresting? Sort of. At first anyway. It took me a bit to get into the Wire, I burned through season 2 and 3 and season four I kinda slowed down some. But when it clicked, it clicked really well and i really wholly appreciated it on my second watch through.

FYI the like, fifth episode of S2 is called "All Prologue" for a reason.

Season 2 also had Omar in court which was goddamned amazing.

Season five is something else. The newspaper thing feels like the least balanced part of the whole series and was very eh. McNulty being goddamned McNulty was rad as gently caress though.
