I just played a 2v2 where my connection decided to go to utter poo poo and I was lagging the game really badly. I didn't want to quit and get placed in a crap league so I kept playing through it while apologizing for the lag. My partner and I stomped their massed marines (yeah they weren't that good) with stalkers, force fields, and a colossus. The guy left on the other team told us that we were really good and that he hoped I could figure my connection issues out. I probably would have been pissed off in his shoes. drat, man, maybe I should stop getting so upset over video games. I've met quite a few chilled out dudes. Usually say hello, we have a chit chat as the game is starting, and always a gg at the end. It's been surprising. I'm pretty chilled because i expect to lose every game, so it's been good.

I beat a guy as Terran with a Reaper rush from behind. Dude lost his mind:![]() Click here for the full 1680x1050 image. Started off bitching how what I did was OP and I mildly agreed since I've actually been taken out by a Reaper rush many, many times (I can't even think of a counter except maybe other Reapers or bunkers all around?), but then he says "Then why do you use such an OP poo poo that's so gay stfu" and then the screenshot above. Felt good, man.

I did an early reaper harass on a protoss econ and it ended up defeating him as he couldn't defend my two reapers with his zealots I just kept kiting. I tried to fill him in on some tips on how to not die to reaper harass and he promptly told me: "You are probably the worst player I have ever seen." "You know NOTHING about strategy." He also bestowed several adult themed cursings upon my noob self.

So I haven't quite studied up on what Real ID all entails, but I heard a story that kind of made me suspicious from a co worker today and thought I'd ask about it here. This is the co worker that likes to make up stories(example: Tried telling all of us that he got a Diablo 3 beta key and already sold it for $500 on ebay. We think this sounds like BS, check ebay and sure enough we don't see any up for auction.) I haven't played MP on SC2 except with friends that I know. This guy at work is telling me that he played a game vs a guy, kicked his rear end, and woke up the next morning to a bunch of angry messages on his facebook. Is this possible? Does the game really let people not on your friends list know your real name? Just seems kinda dangerous to me with all the insane nerd raging babies out there that might snap and do something crazy in real life once they find your information using your real name to search. I'm hoping this is just another made up story that he told just to have "something totally crazy man!!" to say.

Some impertinent mouthbreather just GG'd me as he was zealot-rushing my base. Well I held it off and kept playing for another 15 minutes, counter-attacking and almost winning, before his momentum and DTs finally caught up with me. What kind of useless turds are we raising nowadays, who preemptively "GG" their opponents, denying them the right to concede only when they feel truly vanquished, and not a moment before. The arrogance!

As such, no player actually had any damage dealing units or a way to make some.

Then two stubborn people just left their game running for 9 hours.

XausF1 posted:What the hell is the counter to that? I don't know. I only really started using it yesterday and I haven't lost a game against Protoss since. The hydras destroy pretty much all Protoss air units and all Protoss ground units except colossi which is what the neural parasite is for. I'd guess the way to counter it would be to outmicro him with blink stalkers and colossi; keep the colossi out of range of the parasites, use the blink to snipe infestors, then melt his army with colossi (make sure you have the range upgrade), hydras and infestors are slow as hell off of creep so you shouldn't have any trouble kiting his army around. Also, High Templar would probably do the trick but I pretty much never see anyone use them. Fellatio del Toro fucked around with this message at Aug 1, 2010 around 00:33 |

XausF1 posted:What the hell is the counter to that? Colossi's absolutely DESTROY Hydra if you have the right amount of them, and if you're even kinda decent at micro you can probably avoid NP's or kill the infestors that do NP you fairly quickly. He could have also not made archons if he made them from high templar, and simply stormed the hydras, and feedback the infestors... It sounds like the guy he was playing had a small enough army that he was able to neural parasite the majority of it... a large army of weak units can often be more powerful than a small army of powerful units... just food for thought! I've found Zealots with legs to be much better against Hydras than most people give them credit (as long as they Hydras aren't on creep)

One of the other guys said "it doesn't matter you loving idiot".
