In lieu of bizzaro Marceline, have some proto-Marceline. Dunno if this is already posted in here, I haven't read the whole thread, but this is the first version of Marceline's song from 'It Came From The Nightosphere'. Warning: Heart-Rendingly Adorable! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8FFNuI5iTg

I think Marceline is the best, most believable character on the show so far. On top of that I think she has the most potential character development.

Someone should invent an Adventure Time phone app that syncs with your calender. When you have an event, a thing pops up saying "What time is it? _______ Time!" with the graphic and everything. If I could have something go "Homework Time!" I might actually do it.

I like them both! I think the Marceline one is a little more successful than the Bubblegum one--the jumpiness works better with the tense look on her face, I think.

I have a friend who works on Regular Show who told me about this. Apparently the crews go to a deli to watch Adventure Time and Regular Show, but they always have them turn the volume down when Mad comes on and talk about other things. So they didn't even know about the segment until someone told them the next morning.

So I just got caught up with the entire series. I can't believe it took me until the last Marceline episode to realize they were in a post apocalyptic world Anyway, uh point is on top of the show being awesome/hilarious, I like the show even more because it's post apocalyptic.

"My dialogue isn't nearly as clever as it usually is!" I've never seen MAD so I don't know if it's any good or what, but what's the point in picking on AT and RS? It's not edgy, it's just really sad.

The best way I can explain MAD is, if you automatically laugh at seeing Teen Disney characters and figures from popular culture you recognize in various and unusual situations (usually based on plays on words, such as "Big Time Rush" becoming "Big Time Rushmore") you may enjoy MAD. If the writers for MAD aren't being forced to write this poo poo at gunpoint then they ought to cry themselves to sleep at night.

Guys MAD has been a parody magazine/whatever since it's inception, no need to get offended that they made a joke. These are the same people who think substituting the word poop in a movie title is a job well done.

I would watch a reality TV show about the drama and cliques of the CartoonNetwork staff. I don't understand their dig at AT, though. Are they saying Marvel dialogue is more clever than AT, or that AT's quality has gone down over time, or what. I don't get it.

Apart from that they seem to be taking jabs at the show that aren't particularly entertaining or incisive. I agree with the guy who said it could have been shorter. At least then they'd have been forced to be succinct about whatever the point was.

It was hilarious in its heyday, but all of the old writers are dead now, so it's mostly advertisements, and turning pop culture icons' names into poop-related puns. I never thought I'd ever say these words, but Cracked is much funnier.

Mad got bad as soon as they got ads. I know it sounds like a "THEY SOLD OUT" type of deal but really thye just los something when they finally gave up and started running ads. It's like they let go of their last bit of integrity and just gave up.

I was a long-time MAD subscriber, and I noticed a difference in the vibe and quality of humor almost immediately after they started running ads. I wouldn't say it was night and day, per se, but it was at least noon and twilight, at first.

When did they start running ads? The last time I read MAD was in like 2003, and I thought it was pretty funny. Then again I no longer have the same mature and sophisticated humor that I had when I was 13 so I've probably just outgrown it.

I hadn't seen the content before--there are some really good Marceline sketches. Some of them go in a direction I did not expect--with the Lady-Finn. Her drawings of her cat in some cases heavily reminded me of the cat from the cat episode of Flap Jack. I don't remember the exact name of the episode, but it was the one with the cat with blacked out eyes. She also sings a song about her cat with a ukulele very reminiscent of the girl that voices Marceline. I had gone to the Small Press Expo and Penn was there, and possibly this person and I couldn't find them in the crowd and didn't want to come off too creepy. I regret not having a chance to though, the chances of them going to the next one is probably low and I don't go to any other conventions.
