Sole.Sushi posted:What Pvt. Public said. I logged in early yesterday to find myself probated, and immediately I knew what had transpired. Don't feel too bad. Once upon a time, I worked with a well funded group to launch a massively distributed online ARG. We had a solid storyline and lots of video content that would require the audience to find it through clues in other media. We were all set to launch and decided that the perfect audience would be the Goons of Somethingawful.com. We posted the thread and within minutes it was gassed. Unfortunately, Goons are a very critical lot and they will quickly kill anything that they do not immediately "get". Too bad really, it was gonna be awesome. The whole thing went down the drain after that. The sad part is that it wasn't even an advertisement like some of the successful ARGs of the past on here. It was entirely for enjoyment. We did not plan well relying on Goons for an audience, as much as we love them and are a part of them. ![]() edit: that was the last time any of us ever tried to start a thread on here as far as I know.
