That really sucks dude but your experience is a rare exception to S&W's widespread reputation for excellent customer service.

CAT ON THE COUCH!! posted:That's what I was thinking. I've got a .40 cal pistol and it seems silly to introduce a THIRD pistol caliber into the mix. The funny thing is that I usually use the opposite rationale to justify a new purchase. I didn't have a .40, so I bought a .40 last year. I have a really good 9mm now, so I really haven't seen a need to get another one. I figure that different ammo supplies will force me to shoot every gun I own. When I had a Model 41 and a Ruger Mark II, there was really zero reason to shoot the Ruger. By way of comparison, I have about 1400+ rounds of 7.62 x 25, and the only thing that can possibly shoot that is my CZ-52. I don't like the gun, but poo poo, with that much ammo sitting around, you can bet I'll throw it in the range bag.

How does TFR view FB in regards to firearms and their ownership? What I mean is do you share pictures of your new gun purchases and range trips etc on facebook? Personally I have firearms listed in my interests but beyond that I never post anything else regarding firearm things I own or do.* *With the exception of news articles sometimes. Am I being paranoid?

All my pictures of guns on Facebook were taken at the range while I was there with friends, and you can't view any aspect of my profile unless I'm friends with you. This is the South, though, so roughly 50% of the people I know have at least one picture on facebook of themselves firing a gun or going hunting.

I recently purged my facebook of gun pictures, as the field I am getting into is not super permissive of that sort of thing. If there are still a few floating around then I don't mind but I decided to make "guns" less of a theme on a ver public website, no matter how heavy my privacy settings are.

Fedex says I, as an unlicensed seller, can ship C&R to a licensed holder providing I show a copy of their license upon shipment. I have to send it priority overnight though. Now lets see If I can find a Fedex store nearby that will not freak the gently caress out like.

While sending a handgun through USPS without a license is a felony, fedex and UPS can't charge you with felonies for not telling them what you're shipping and so shipping it slower/cheaper than they would like. So if you want to risk it you could send it cheap. You're hosed if it gets lost or damaged, but from what I understand of the insurance policies of both carriers, you're still pretty hosed anyhow. Just be sure you're sending it to someone with the appropriate license, and you're legally OK. Generally you'll have to send it from a hub if you declare it as a firearm though.

It is awesome as poo poo, especially if you like to figure out how things work. And cheap to shoot. And super distinctive looking. I sold because I needed to make room for other guns. The only negatives I can think of are the small sights, and the very long grip length. It takes some getting used to at first. For fun, when you receive it, shoot cinder blocks, phone books, and kevlar helmets, and watch the 7.62 round just melt right through all of them. It's a tiny rocket. Box o Truth session with the Cz52. ![]() New firing pin should last just about forever, and the Marschal grips are solid and comfortable. I need a gun safe. Looking for something like a 30 gun safe with some decent fire protection. This is a life long investment. Many years from now I want my kids to have to figure out how to get it out of my house after I'm found dead on the toilet with an empty Cheez-it box on my head. I know to expect to pay up to a few grand for this. (The safe, not the Cheez-its). Not knowing much about how the major brands compare to one another I was hoping you guys might have some insight. Any recommendations? I know... ...

He got it at an auction after a local bank went under for really cheap. Just be aware that they are loving heavy. His winning that auction was dependent on him transporting it out himself and that day. He didn't even bother fixing it to the floor in his garage. His words: "fucker that can get that thing out before I get home deserves the guns more than me".

Hell, if you have only 1 expensive gun it is worth it.
