Last time I flew into JFK the guy at immigration freaked me out so much that when he asked me what I did for a living I panicked, forgot, and ended up telling him I was a student. I hadn't been a student for seven years at that point. It was my honeymoon, too, so I very nearly screwed the pooch completely on that one. You should just whip out a bound volume of that thread. With large, glossy photos.

Does anyone happen to know what Swiss laws are like re: foreigners going to ranges? I'm going to be in Europe over the summer and while I wasn't planning on hitting Switzerland the chance to go shooting would make it worthwhile. I expect my status as a foreigner makes it a long shot but I figure that if there's anywhere in Europe where I can just show up and shoot guns it would be Switzerland.

It's also about 10X as expensive and geared more towards sharpening large kitchen knives rather than smaller folders, but it's tits. Also, today is NEW GUN DAY!!! at NosmoKing's house. A wayward WASR followed me home.

The Lansky actually offers more flexibility, it's just that you also see people gently caress up knives with it from time to time if they're new and inexperienced or just generally stupid. The Sharpmaker is more idiot-proof. Feel free to buy either. I was mostly just pointing out that the TFR Hivemind actually largely espouses the Sharpmaker over the Lansky, not specifically saying you should buy it instead.

So, I have this new baby killing device in my house that I've never owned before. Midway USA tells me that there are poo poo-tons of AK pattern mags in 7.62x39. What will actually feed and make gun go BANG regularly and not have me want to scream and throw it like a Romanian made golf club? (also nobody cares I bought a new gun)
|
| # ? Jun 16, 2010 03:42 |

Skip the U.S.-made polymer mags because they are terrible. Check Aimsurplus and Centerfire Systems periodically to see who has the best deal on steel 30 round surplus combloc mags.

I use the cheapest Romanian steel mags I could get from AIM. Even when the Barackalypse was gearing up, they were like $8 apiece if you bought three.
