I used to "hunt" snapping turtles. There were some rednecks that paid handsomely for the stupid things, and luckily I didn't get my johnson bitten off in the process. An 11 year old with no dick but a $20 bounty on snapping turle would be a sad sight. Long story short, if it's hot they're in the water and the water is pretty murky. So you'll have to do what I did: walk around with a stick, probing the bottom of the pond until you feel a turtle shell. Then you have to pull the fucker out of the muck. To do this, you need to blindly reach down and grab the stupid thing. Hopefully you don't grab where the snapping part is. I never did, luckily. Then you have to get it shore. Then you get it to bite at something and club it in the loving head. Then you get $10 a turtle if it's a decent size from your friendly neighborhood redneck for this delicacy. Unless you set up a sweet FLIR scope on your rifle and go out at night or in the wee hours of the morning, I don't really see snapping turtles sunning themselves this time of year.

Does anyone have a link to a good guide for photographing their guns? I have seen some amazing photography in here and I would like to be able to take some decent pictures as well. I know a lot of people use those homemade photo booth things (I think they are made of posterboard or something?) but I would love to see the specifics and any other tips to make the photos come out better.

I put the locked pistol case inside my larger luggage suitcase.  no one ever knew it was there (Meaning, I told the airline rep I was flying with a gun. What should I look for in choosing an FFL delivery location? Prices, local taxes, etc.? So far I've been quoted anywhere from $20 and state sales tax to $100 and no sales tax, which doesn't even seem legal. I'm in WA state.

The only people who are supposed to know there is a gun on the flight is you and the TSA/airline person you show it to on check-in. Another consideration is hours of operation - I'm an 8-5 full-time schlub, so I had to find one that I could get to after work and all. As for sales tax, last I heard was that you (as the buyer) were supposed to fill out the form and send in the tax payment yourself; the only places I see charging sales tax, last time I looked at the Gunbroker list, were gun shops/storefront operations. There's a list of FFLs at Gunbroker (which I can access at the moment or I'd add the URL), just search by zipcode & distance, then choose what feels like the best deal to you. You might also check around, to see if it turns out that "Honest Achmed's Low Low FFL Service" is a guy that receives the gun, then sells it some Canadian gangbanger or something.

As long as it's 55 grain, it should work fine. The SP1 I have is a 1:12 twist barrel and won't shoot heavier bullets for poo poo. I'm assuming yours will be the same. I fed mine some lovely Russian lacquered ammo (SAPSAN if I recall) and got a case stuck in the chamber, but it came out, and the rifle is just fine. If you're shooting new Wolf with the polymer coating, you should be just fine. Just clean the chamber out when you're done (steel cases are known not to expand as much as brass, so they don't fully seal up the chamber, so you'll probably get more carbon fouling in the chamber).

Gun stores are not allowed to charge tax on anything they didn't directly sell to you. They didn't buy it, it didn't come from their inventory, so they have no reason to collect a tax. All they did was transfer it. Unless he is collecting sales tax on the transfer itself. Or just 'collecting' the sales tax for the state it came from, which he will forward to them later (sure) but I admit that some states have a very weird tax code.
