You guys are going about this all wrong. The solution is to make a tactical bat.

Admitedly, getting hit in the face by an aluminium bat covered in rails, lasers and foregrips would hurt quite a bit more than your run of the mill wooden bat.

didn't said scandanavian country (Norway, I think) find multiple failures with the 416 in arctic conditions.

I know for sure they had problems with soldiers getting kind of dizzy with whatever fumes were produced from shooting the ammo and a gas system that would flow some of the gasses in their faces.

Last I heard, they changed the ammo.

Recommend me a top break revolver!
I want another (sexier) top break revolver. So recommend me one, preferably in .38, 357 (do they make them?), or .45 acp. Extra points if it is under 800

For .45acp, there's always the option of a shaved cylinder Webley. Don't know what milsurp enthusiasts will think of me for advising you this, but hey...

AS for .357, the only top break revolver I know of is the MP412 REX, but it has never been imported to the US, and I have never seen one in europe.

There's one of these at a pawn shop near me for 650. Is that a decent price? I don't know if it comes with a second cylinder, if that's how the caliber conversion operates. It's in decent shape -- clean, and it works.
About the price : no loving idea. I guess you could compare with gunbroker, but from what I understand a lot of sellers on gunbroker also gouge up their prices a little bit.

As for how it works, this should answer your questions.

I was wondering why shoulder holsters aren't popular anymore. Is OWB/IWB carry that much better or is there some really huge disadvantages in shoulder carry ?

Isn't that on a normal J-frame? Who would buy that? For MSRP of $774?

There are some 22 revolvers and derringers that are comically tiny. Maybe if you're a super-model at a bikini shoot and want to carry something in your butt crack you'd need something that small. I can't think of any reason to have a J-frame, snub 22. That must be a small market segment.

From what I've read, heard and personally verified, S&W tends to grossly overestimate its MSRPs. They go for around $550 on gunbroker, if it is any indication.

Maybe people like them because they have little recoil yet are still "magnum" calibers? Maybe there are people who are just looking for fun guns?

All of that brings to mind a question I've always had that maybe you and some other European TFR posters could answer for me.

Do "gun nuts" in restrictive countries look at the USA as some sort of dream land when it comes to owning firearms? Like, do guys who are really into shooting think wistfully of what it might be like to just walk into a store and walk out with basically whatever non-NFA fun you want? Is it ever a topic of envious conversation at the range or with other gun guys of what it would be like?

Or, having grown up with tighter laws, is it just not something you even think about anymore? Or maybe, do enthusiasts in Scandinavia, for example, think we're just a bunch of crazy cowboy wannabes who need more European-style licensing/laws/etc.?

I just wonder because pretty much the only countries I know of with more open gun access than us are government-less hellholes where I wouldn't want to be anyway, so I don't have a good frame of reference to compare. I don't want to bring any America's political/societal shortcomings into this question (healthcare, immigration, etc.), just gun laws.

VVVV
No, I know. As far as I know, though, even the more liberal European countries (Czech Republic, France, and so on) are still more restricted than the US. With my question I'm thinking specifically of places like Scandinavian countries that DO have shooting communities but that, as illustrated above, still have a mountain of hoops to jump through. I'd be interested in an UK poster's take, too, of course. Also, I guess I don't just mean European countries, but just anywhere - Australia, New Zealand, whereever international TFR goons might be.

Honestly, yes, I envy you a bit, being able to walk into a gunstore, buy a gun you want and walk out within the same hour is rather cool, but at the same time I like to remain realistic : I wouldn't have the money to buy expensive and cool guns anyway (maybe I could get some milsurp though).

Am I happy with my country's gun laws? again, I couldn't care less. I only rent guns to shoot for a few hours like once a year, and I'm bad with paperwork anyway.

Ideally I 'd love to be a multi millionaire playboy with both citizenships and a big rear end house in a very gun friendly state where I would invite you people for all kind of NFA fun, but that's not going to happen. (oh yeah, btw : you yanks should fix your import laws to get all those cool 551s and non sporting saigas)

Any specific or special tips I should know before shooting an H&K pistol? I've shot a Glock for a few years, but never an H&K. Or a similar style gun. I've been told the feeling in the hands and the way the gun is designed is slightly different and can feel "off" at first to people who've never used one. That was followed up by being told it would be better feeling in comparison because of the shape of the grip.
The mag release is a little unusual, but that's about it.

Monday, I intend to purchase a 1911 with a bunch of scratch I've saved up, I'm torn though. The shop has a May sale for a Taurus PT1911 for $450, but I don't know too much about the Taurus brand. I have been trying my best to research the Taurus, but everything I've read thus far has been either blind praise, or complete dismissal without ever firing one. I've read a lot of suggestions that say you should spend the extra cash and go for a Kimber custom II.

One big thing that makes me swing towards the Kimber is the .22 lr conversion kit for practice. Most of the conversion kits I see say they wont fit the Taurus, and I like the idea of being able to convert what will hopefully be my main carry, since it will be like shooting the same handgun with less kickback.

What does tfr suggest for a 1911 around the $450-$800ish range?

Fake edit: I am against the idea of an RIA just cause it's not what I want.

I hate to sounds like forum old farts who sign their post and jump on people and complain to the moderators to have them banned for asking about something that was answered 7 years ago on page 456 of a completely unrelated thread on an obscure subforum, but :
