Just finished the series. Watched 1-4 years ago, then season 5 aired at a weird hour and I only saw episodes in fits and starts. Getting through early season 5 was a chore, but worth it in the end. Sun's coming up

The only thing I remember about the Xon was Londo's awesome story about the last Xon. Do you know what the last Xon said, just before he died? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH

Devil Wears Wings posted:Yeah, that and the Penn & Teller episode are pretty much entirely skippable. I really enjoyed the Gaiman episode. It gave a bit of personality to Lochley, who I spent the entire season being pissed off at--Marcus probably survives had folks known Ivanova was leaving the show, and instead we get this awful Ivanova replacement. Garibaldi looks like less of a moody rear end in a top hat when he's with the girl from Gropos. Londo gets an evening of happiness, which is one of two Plus the "zooty zoot zoot" bullshit is moderately less annoying than it was in the other episode that just references Rebo and Zooty.

I hated the Garibaldi stuff in seasons 4 and 5. I was mad at him for being indirectly responsible for G'Kar getting captured. I was mad at him for being an enormous loving prick. I was mad at him for not being funny anymore. I was mad that he got replaced with Zach, who wasn't as interesting of a character. The only Garibaldi moment I enjoyed from S4 onward was the "lol I am a hologram and I just pranked the hell out of you; have fun getting nuked" from the S4 finale. That was the fun sarcastic Garibaldi again

The best character in the show (after Londo and G'Kar, of course) is Marcus. I wish they'd known there'd be a season 5 and that Claudia Christian wouldn't be there for it. I bet he would've survived then.

Berkeloid posted:I think you're forgetting Warren Keffer, who had so little purpose and personality that I'd barely even call him a character if he weren't listed in the opening credits. I think Warren got less screentime than Lt. Corwin, who was pretty much an afterthought after Marcus showed up. Also, Byron is the worst. His loving song is the worst. Early season 5 is the worst.

I don't think I could enjoy a new B5 without G'Kar anyway. He and Londo absolutely made the show, though Grizzlebeard Sheridan in S4 helped a lot too. A pity it's not on Netflix anymore; it's tough to watch on DVD.

Number_6 posted:Why, does Netflix have a better video transfer somehow? Maybe I'm imagining things (it's been a while since I've broken out my dvds) but I thought Netflix stretched the aspect ratio or something, and also cut out the interstitial "BABYLON 5! Here's some fanfare" commercial stuff that plagued S1.

Can we at least agree that the Byron/telepath/Psicorps stuff from season 5 was poo poo and generally not worth watching?
