Nope, and if Nick had their way after the 2nd season there wouldn't have been a 3rd or 4th season at all, but they had already ordered them And yes, Korra was revealed to be les/bi in the finale, that actually happened

Was it not printing enough money to offset the costs or was there something else at work?

Cartoon Network is the only entity in the US willing to fund cartoons that aren't either Family Guy clones or terrible garbage like Spongebob or Johnny Test, and even then most of their original shows are fairly formulaic and similar, like Adventure Time, Chowder, Flapjack, etc

I didn't dislike S2 as much as a lot of other people, but it wasn't very good. Especially the first half holymoly. S3 is probably the best season in the entire franchise next to TLA's s2 and Korra's last season was also drat good. Have some content:   Zedd has a new favorite as of 22:26 on Dec 22, 2014 |

I dropped Korra halfway through season 2 because I wasn't liking it. Since I heard it gets better I was thinking of watching it again, does anything I need before watching season 3 and 4 happen in the second half of season 2 or can I just skip that?

You totally have to watch at least the finale because it seriously changes the world up for the rest of the show. You'll also want to see the two-parter titled Beginnings, since it's about the first Avatar and how he ended up mastering every element.

The two things you need to know about Season 2 to watch Season 3 are the battle with the big bad of Season 2 has severed the Avatar's connections to the past lives and that the Sprit world and the world of humans has been brought back together for the first time in thousands of years. So now spirits can come into the regular world. Also if you haven't seen it yet track down the Season 2 two parter about the origins of the Avatar. It is disconnected from the rest of the season and is just a little stand alone story.

I'm pretty solidly one of those that shakes their fists at networks over cartoons but even I can't bring myself to feel offended about Nick effectively shitcanning the show since it kinda brought it on itself. Hills to die on, it's not one of them.
