I had a couple minifigures crack like that when I was a kid but they were usually the ones I played with a bunch and probably swapped out the arms on a bunch of times. I haven't seen any newer stuff stress-fracture like that, but I'm also just mostly building it, displaying it, then taking it apart and keeping the sets in individual plastic bags.

And that's a great minifig set. I sat out the movie set and the Simpsons set, but I think this one might pull me back in. I think Target and Wal-Mart here both stopped selling them (the movie ones were wiped out as soon as they went up and I never saw any Simpsons ones) so if any goons wanted to split a box we could maybe work something out.

poo poo, TBB says the MSRP on the new minifig series is going to be $4. The Simpsons price hike is apparently permanent. I guess I won't be buying boxes anymore unless I can find the half-size ones.

Speaking of deals, although this is nothing like that ultra agents deal. We were at our local Lego store this weekend and all LOTR and The Hobbit sets were 20 percent off. Pick up two of the final four sets I am missing for those series.

I understand they are probably trying to clear room for their four new sets coming out but I am slowly realizing that my favorite IP is probably done after this third movie is over. drat Star Wars and its rows of shelf space, I just can't get into any of those sets and wish there were more variety. Here's to hoping for Vikings again, or a re-run of Harry Potter (a man can dream can't he?)

drat, this set is sweet. I can't decide who I like best.

Wizard?
Totally Not Lara Croft?
Genie?
Goth Girl?
Amazon?
Crazy Old Coot Prospector?

All solid choices!

Also, I might have to find some way of getting a bear or bear-like piece for that Pig-Man and make a ManBearPig.

Or get four of them and re-enact the opening scene to National Lampoon's European Vacation.

There's a lot of brown minifig "animal" parts in the Chima line, there's gotta be something in there you could make it with.

I honestly cannot believe that people are paying $75 apiece for two Unikitty face prints. 4 bricks (including the eyebrow prints).

I'd love to have the prints (and can only hope they appear in future sets), but that's just insane.

The Zur-en-arrh Batman is going for over $250, and so is the TV Batmobile. The Guardians of the Galaxy set and the minifig are each going for over $150. The Hobbit minifig is over $100.

Weird, I can't even find that minifig on bricklink.

Mr. Gold from MF series 10 is hovering around $700-1000 on ebay.

They learned their lesson with Mr Gold (although how they didn't see it coming is beyond me) but with everything else it's just good marketing. It makes the product seem desirdable to create artificial demand.

The Cantina set is pretty cool, I have no idea why there isn't a bartender. Other than that it's a pretty cool idea for a playset in how you can fold it up into a small space, but it expands to be larger and even the floors of a couple rooms come out so it's easier to fit guys (manual suggests the Bith band in one and Han and Greedo in another). Also the speeder is a small improvement in some ways, but I don't like the amount of stickers, and how some of what is now a sticker was handled better with greebles on the last model. Also Luke looks middle-aged with all those drat face lines.

Oh! The dewback! I almost forgot. That thing is amazing, it has a brick-built saddle and looks pretty good, although all it can do is open or close the lower jaw.
