One of my weekly favorites is Tell 'em Steve-Dave. Now I know a lot of people don't care for the Kevin Smith brand of comedy but you at least have to try this one. The 3 hosts Brian Johnson, Walter Flanagan, and Brian Quinn are amazing and have far better chemistry than Kevin and Scott. Each episode mainly consists of them straight up bull making GBS threads about any random topic, news piece, or hilarious story from their past. I enjoy this podcast leaps and bounds over its parent podcast Smodcast. Where Kevin usually dominates the mic, and almost each scenario he and Scott come up with just end up with a dick sucking punchline. TESD is an excellent listen and I highly recommend it over Smodcast.

Notable episodes are:
Episodes 12 & 13 where the hosts go and interview various long term sellers at the Collingswood flea market. They play a portion of the interviews and then commentate/riff on what was spoken. Highly entertaining and the 2 episodes together clock in at nearly 6 hours, so if you have a long commute like I do, episodes like these are a Godsend.

Hmm, I might actually check this out. It didn't take long to get loving tired of Kevin on smodcast, but Bryan Johnson was easily the best guest. On the other hand, given that they both run comic book stores, they might only talk about poo poo I don't care about...

They almost never talk about comics. But they do tell stories about about odd customers, and weird things that happen at the store. There's almost nothing in tesd that the average person would be lost by.

Man I just can't get into Adam Carolla ever since I first heard the 3rd episode of the Nerdist. Adam went off about Rankin Bass and Hanna Barbara and overreacted for well over 15 minutes on how evil and disgusting the cartoons and their creators are. Chris Hardwick and his 2 cohosts just seemed shocked about the whole thing. They even mention about it briefly in the Drew Carrey episode I think. Is this some sort of bit he does or is he generally this unlikable?

Fitzdog Radio is pretty good. Greg Fitzsimmons usually has great guests and is generally a pretty decent podcast. The show is generally around an hour long. One of my favorite episodes is a little shorter than usual but has Bob Saget as the guest. If you're into Saget's comedy definitely check it out because he an Greg play really well off of each other.

WTF with Marc Maron is just really interesting to listen to. Before starting his podcast I didn't even know who he was. Now after listening for 2 months I feel oddly attached to his show. It's not always funny, it's not always interesting, but for some reason Marc's outlook on life is really interesting to hear. He's a very interesting person who struggles with real problems and more often than not it hits home with me. Hearing him quit smoking and listening to his attitude change through the course of the week was really inspiring. Some of his noteworthy episodes are:Episodes 75 & 76 which of course are the Carlos Mencia interviews.

I remember someone earlier mentioning dislike towards Natasha Leggero, I've heard of her a few times and really didn't think too much of her, but drat! On the latest episode of Maron's podcast (ep.101) she came of like a oval office. She kept going on about Marc's ex girls and arguments she's witnessed between them. I don't know if that's her stage persona or if she's that bitchy all the time maybe some of you goons can give me some insight because I don't know too much about her.

And like an abused wife I keep returning to smodcast. Although to my surprise the latest episode(130) was better than the last few weeks of the live shows Kevin Smith is still using dick sucking jokes as a go to comedic crutch. I'm curious to see how many of you listen to the red headed thoroughly beaten stepchild of the "smodfamily" The Toronto Ontario Mo & Glo Show. I don't know why I listen, Malcolm Ingram, the shows host isn't very likable on his own (although I liked his past appearances on smod) and his cohost is his mother. Each episode is like watching a car wreck. I don't enjoy it but I don't stop listening and I don't know why... Any other goons who listen to this one have thoughts on it?

The episode with Dane Cook really changed my opinion of him as well. I'm not a fan of his in the slightest but I definitely think more of him since his appearance on Maron's podcast. Oddly enough though he appeared on Joe Rogan's podcast and he bugged me for some reason. I guess that's the magic of WTF.

I started listening to this one but the host Jimmy Dore would go on long angry political tirades. I started out really liking his show and then during episodes he'd just dedicate portions of the show to just going on about how stupid republicans are and how great liberals are. His rants started out as jokingly mean which I didn't mind but then became what seemed to me like pure nonsensical hate. I'm not really a political man and I can enjoy jokes bashing on either party but he just came off with a Liberal superiority complex. Don't get me wrong I agree with some stuff he says and points he makes but he just comes off as a hateful rear end in a top hat. Maybe I just listened to a bad string of episodes but are his shows always like that? I'd love to bring it back to my subscription queue.

Some good Podcasts coming out this last week. Elisiabeth Shue censoring her comments on Doug Loves movies. Todd Glass returning to Comedy and everything else. Jimmy Pardo onWTF. Paul F Tompkins on the Nerdist. And for my fellow goons who listen to Tell 'em Steve Dave an hour long argument between Bryan and Walter. As an avid listener it was pretty hard to listen to. They patched things up by the end and started doing commentary on what they thought was their worst live show in Houston.

Don't forget Walt's plan for combating movie piracy: the movie studios get to destroy pirates' computers via the internet with an electromagnetic pulse. It's really his best solution for society's problems since he suggested pairing up child molesters with midgets.

On a side note: the latest episode of the Joe Rogan Experience is really funny because, like all funny episodes of that show, it features a heavy amount of Joey Diaz. Specifically, his experiences of going to prison which are a loving riot.

That episode was amazing. I could listen to Eddie, Joe, and Joey talk for hours. Listening to Joey's story about going to prison was loving fascinating.

To be fair I thought almost every tangent Tj went on was really funny and a lot more entertaining than 7 rounds of Len Maltin. I can see why Doug would be irritated but drat did he seem genuinely upset.

Joey Motherfucking Karate Coco Diaz has his own podcast along with some chick called Beauty and da Beast. If he's half as funny as he is on Joe Rogan's podcast as a guest, it's going to be gold. I downloaded a few episodes to listen to on my commute tomorrow.

Thanks for this I love me some Joey Diaz. Looking forward to listening.

Rogan is great but he'd definitely a hype machine when it comes to conspiracies and other odd theories that he comes across.

Anyone listen to the latest TESD? I was curious to what they bleeped out but I'm going to assume it was Walt plugging another listener.

Thanks to you goons I've been listening to back episodes of UYD. Are there any episodes that would be considered a fan favorite or best. Ala "making hay" from TESD or Maron's interview with Mencia on WTF.

"Oh, I love his work."

That episode was a match made in heaven. I would love to see them back on Doug Loves Movies. That may be my favorite episode yet, next to the Craig Robinson episode. Did any of you buy the Len Maltin tournament of champions episode? Is it worth a purchase, or is it only for die hard fans?
