The lesson here is that people like different kind of music. I gained an appreciation for lots of things I used to dislike, simply because it was on and I didn't turn the volume down for whatever reason. Try some new stuff. you might like it. If you don't like it, something else will play very shortly.

Is this how I should do it for GBS FM? Ugh no, don't do this. Artist should be the person doing the cover. You can put the original artist in the comments field once it's uploaded if you want.

Well, I think it's time to pimp the weekend radio shows. Tonight, at 7pm central, 8pm eastern tune in for my Friday show, Zero-G on Ghetto Radio - http://ghettoradio.us/ I'm thinking to do a "Welcome to GBSFM" type show with my own slant (alternative, rock, 80s), so let me start your musical weekend off tonight and listen in!

Beelzebozo posted:I'm willing to accept the fact that there are a lot fewer metal fans (none?) this time around than there were amongst the original GBS-FM listenerbase, but could you possibly refrain from making the same 3-4 clichéd and unfunny comments on every dong with any kind of death vocal in it? Feel free not to give any of it a chance and continue making GBS threads all over it if you can come up with some original poo poo now and then. Ah, Beelz. How soon we forget that it was pretty much the exact same thing in the early days of the old station. (Industrial gets the same treatment)

Hoo boy. Look, people like different music - can we NOT turn this thread into a big genre bitch fest? Beelz' point was just that it's not funny to post COOKIE COOKIE COOKIE multiple times in the comments field of every metal song.

Jormagund posted:For something like this grab Doc0 in IRC some time, he is a huge Coil fan and has a massive collection. It could be a truncated upload or it might be a different version to the one you have. Once he's checked his original against the upload either a replacing version or an alternative version can be uploaded. Good advice to triple check, especially Coil since they often have a bunch of different versions. However, in this case it looks like it got chopped. I upped the Coil pretty early on and I think the FTP was having issues. I'll fix it when I get home. PS: Add more Coil

Test Pilot Monkey posted:I suppose it's their site so they can do what they want, but I hope they don't do it too often or the site loses some of its charm. Seems to follow the rule from the old GBSFM. That is, that mods can skip, but they generally don't unless it's spoken word or corrupt, or has a huge stretch of silence or something. If someone's abusing their mod powers, then bring it up in IRC. Sometimes humor value comes into play as well. Mods tend to be pretty lawful neutral (D&D JOKE!), so I wouldn't worry too much about abuses of power.
