Been listening for a little while, awesome so far. Added one of my own songs to the playlist, hope people like goon made music.

Seems like the answer to my question is that people hate goon music. Oh well, time to upload some more!

Leave the voting system as it is, it's not like the numbers actually do anything. I use the voting as a personal thing, eventually I should have enough tracks voted so I can see if a block of songs I like is coming up. And about the genre thing, people seem to be really hostile to things they don't actually know. From the comments I've got on my songs, you'd think I'd taken a poo poo in everyone's ears. Funniest comment I've got so far: "worse than hitler" Maybe I should try deliberately posting terrible music, apparently I'm doing well without even trying. I'm posting my good stuff guys, if you want me to queue up some of my more 'experimental' tracks I'd be happy to oblige.

Sorry for the double post, but is anybody else having trouble uploading at the moment? It seems to upload all the track, but then stalls for a while before telling me (1205, 'Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction') among lots of other stuff.

Linkin Park got skipped? Hopefully it was just a glitch and not deliberate. Not that I was wanting to listen to it but I thought the point of gbs.fm was to play any music people wanted.

Farquar posted:Linkin Park may not be any good, but compared to some of the stuff here, it's nothing. The only reason people hate is because they actually became popular. If you didn't know who they were, you would find them spectacularly average and nowhere near skip worthy. Yeah, I uploaded PritStik yesterday and that's definitely worse, but somehow it got rated 2.11111. I understand it has comic value, that's why I uploaded it, but the rating means nothing, so you can't base quality on just that.

With "Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!!" on the playlist it gave me a thought. At some point we really need to queue up: "Boom! Shake The Room" by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince "Boom Boom" (I don't know any songs called this, but I found a couple in search) "Boom Boom Boom" by The Outhere Brothers "Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!!" by Vengaboys or some/all of the other "Boom" songs (just search to see how many there are)
