Totally surviving on my own. On LAND!

The OP is really good and has alot of really good data. I have a question about that Marauder/Thor TvT strat though. How well does this really work if the other T goes Marauder/Tank/Viking?

Can Thor's really push past a tank line with Marauder support? It seems as if you still need vikings, which is more strain on gas? Or is this some sort of timing attack where 1-2 thors can push past 3-4 tanks pretty easily and then just finish the job?

That's good info on the Thor/Marauder comp. I shied away from using Thors at all in most matchups, but I'll have to try it out more often. Marines/Vikings seemed to fill their AA niche, while tanks covered the ground damage + splash.

Nuking Terrans who hide in their base with Tanks/Vikings/defense structures and don't move out. Ghosts are the one thing Terran has that can break these people efficiently. Just nuke the edges where their Tanks can't get you.

I have a random question regarding nukes. If you have a ghost who is channeling a nuke and then has force field cast on them, does it break the channeling or does it push them as normal?

If it doesn't break channeling, I think it would be amusing in 2v2s to have a friendly Toss push your ghost way out of the way after starting the channel. Or just walling the ghost off.

If you're using Ravens heavily, the duration of their abilities can be researched at a Tech Lab, but Ravens are expensive, so you'd better hope you're getting your money's worth from those expensive upgrades.

One very good upgrade for Ravens actually comes from Engineering Bay with the High-Sec Auto Tracking. It adds +1 range on PDDs, Auto-Turrets, Planetary Fortresses and Missile Turrets too.

It's only 100m/100g so it's pretty good if you use any of those defenses.

Edit: Not 50% more range on PDDs, but still a good boost.

Wait, you can set a waypoint so the tank moves to a destination and seiges once it gets there? How do you do this?

I believe it's the same concept of stalker blink-queuing.

Basically you can shift queue alot more stuff then you think.

How do you counter a zerg that goes muta ling bling? Thors come out quite late, and your marines get raped by banelings if you try and go on the offensive... So if I stay home then the zerg just takes the whole map, and if I go out I lose all my dudes...

I would be interested in getting some advice on this matchup too. I lost a game by not being able to pressure them and then got out expanded since I couldn't stop the muta harass.

In another game that I won, I went Reactor Hellion with harass, but the guy was still able to pop out enough mutas to go into my base and do some damage before my thor popped out. Granted I was in his base too, but I didn't feel as if I really had the upper hand throughout the game.

Bio gets stomped really hard by bane/muta and can't put enough pressure on the zerg earlygame (before medivacs) with marine/marauder to prevent the muta from coming out. That's the problem.

This is exactly the problem I ran into when I tried 3-rax against a zerg. I actually beat his ling/bling push at my base but by the time I ran over to attack he had already thrown down 2 spine crawlers and his spawning reinforcements were enough to hold me off.

Edit: To finish, his muta harass contained me to 1 expansion and he was able to overwhelm me with sheer numbers of ling/bling. I think if I had just stayed to defend and switched to mech sooner I would have been ok. But even hellions/tanks have a hard time against 70+ lings.

I don't remember if it was this thread or maybe the APM practice one, but there was a terran micro practice map that I saw posted. Does anyone have a copy of that lying around or know what to search for on custom games on bnet?

I remember it was like marines vs lings, marauders vs roaches, marines vs banshees, etc.

Cool maps. I've been working on the MM-baneling one cause I keep slipping up with my micro trying to kite banelings in game.

Thanks for the link. A friend of mine was asking for advice on their micro, so I figured in-game practice would be the best help.
