I know the new one is coming out soon but this one I can take to work. My work doesn't allow cameras in.

So handy, can take this poo poo anywhere:

For what I record having something simple and USB I can pop in a little carry case is a life saver.

By the way... what's with the people calling out the guy for not getting a room at a 5 star resort when it appears he just wants to get away to play out his early twenties romance fantasy? Or him not drinking single run independent micro-brews or whatever things you assume he should be drinking? Sometimes people drink common beer because it's common and they've grown a taste to it. Sometimes people want to get away because they want to mess up some young things she-bits without grandma hearing and don't really care where it is as long as there's four walls and a roof and no grandma. When I was twenty one I would have drank gasoline and hosed a girl inside a beached whale if I had to. I saw that post and I cringed, not for the content but because I knew it was like chumming the water in a sea of tears filled with carnivorous smugfish that feed on pride.

If I can't finish a book, it means it was so boring and terrible I would rather not know how it ended than slog through the rest of the poo poo. That's pretty indicative of its quality.

In purchase news, I got the album Truth or Dare by Automatic Loveletter. Really great album.

I'm with you on that. There's no need to finish a bad book. But, when you're reviewing a book that's sold as many as that one has, and is generally well regarded, you might want to consider that you're the outlier here.

Old Style is a really lovely beer from Wisconsin, which they serve at Wrigley Field. I was saying that if he's drinking bad beer anyways, he should drink that since he's a Cubs fan. I love Old Style.

I couldn't really care less about the hotel room, cheap wine, and massage oils. I did the same thing in undergrad.

Cross-posting from the Post your (actual) desktops thread:

Just made my first Ikea purchase and grabbed this Galant desk. I really had to hope that everything fit right/wasn't broken since it's a nine hour round-trip drive to get there. However, this desk is sturdy as poo poo and so far works well. As for the other stuff:

1. A 7-port USB hub with on/off switches. This was just delivered on Friday.
2. A piece of poo poo HP laptop that I hate - fortunately, tax return should be big enough that I can buy a desktop rig and maybe put some effort into hiding these wires.
3. Logitech headphones w/mic on a banana hammock. Got this last week.
4. Some old 1TB external drive I got a while back.
5. Ikea Grono lamps. I got two sets of two (since the set is one big, one small). These are the two small ones, and the big ones are in the bedroom.

I haven't actually bought this yet because for some reason it's more expensive on the UK site (VAT?), but I am so so close to getting it. I've got a few different sizes of softbox and then I also ordered a 64" silver PLM with the diffusive cover because it looks a lot more convenient to set up than my bigger softboxes while offering a similar light spread. Plus they're actually priced pretty reasonably.

My old boots crapped out on me and I needed a new pair in a hurry. I found a pair of these at a surplus store for £25, worn just enough to break the leather in. Excellent, as the last pair of these I bought new left scars which aren't completely healed today.
